We have a good idea when the Earth will end. The Earth will burn to a cinder when the sun expands into a red giant, in about 5 billion years.
According to many astronomers, the sun was supposed to do that years and years ago. I don't remember what the stage it's in now is called, but it's the stage all stars go through where they're still fairly small and yellow. Our sun has been in this stage much longer than most recorded stars.
And you still don't know the exact date or even year, do you?

Astronomy is one of my hobbies, and I am sorry to tell you, but you are wrong.

The sun is about half way though the main sequence. The age of the sun is around 4.5 billion years old. That means we have at least 4.5 billion years to go.
Okay, http://www.astro.keele.ac.uk/workx/starlife/StarpageS_26M.html says that our sun's stage is known as "main sequence star" and they stay like this for about 10 billion years.

So far it looks like what I'm coming across does pinpoint the sun at about 4.6 billion years...at least how long it's been in its main sequence stage.
But that still doesn't bother me. By then we should be able to settle on other planets if the Earth hasn't ended first. God takes care of us whether we acknowledge it or not and the will to survive is very powerful. I'm sure the sun expanding and cooling into its red giant stage won't mean the end of humanity.

Uh, what you just said is exactly what I'm addressing in the atheist thread. I haven't called you names. You can refrain from calling me names.
No, math and science aren't my strong suits, but I'm a college graduate. My husband, however, is also a Christian and a civil engineer, so you can go talk to him about math and science all you want, and to my best friend who is a devout Christian and an aeronautical engineer...or my other best friend who is a management major and a math whiz...see where I'm going here?

how can you claim to make a knowledgable claim without knowledge.
Didn't I just admit I couldn't find where I had heard that? And I never claimed to be an expert in science. All I said was that it doesn't worry me.
My point is that Christians are no more or less educated than any other group and just because I don't know certain facts doesn't mean someone else is. As a researcher, I do have to use the scientific method quite a bit and I earned my degree and my career and resent your assumption I am not knowledgeable.
Next time you want to ask me a question, put a question mark at the end.

all im saying is dont make assumptions unless you have the knowledge to do so. thats like not knowing math and saying " i dont know math but i believe 2+2=23"
