STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Brothers

You go to snatch his pistols, but Einar spends a Fortune point right back to evade your grab.

"What is the MATTER with you?" Einar shouts. "I tell you that we're being manipulated and all you want to do is kill me? Open your eyes, brother! Someone let this behemoth into our gardens, on our palace grounds. Did YOU do it?"

Melkor shakes his head.

"Well, last time you tried to kill me, so I am cautious.... and do you really swear you didn`t kill our mother.... all evidence pointed to you."

Einar was never much of a liar, wasn`t he?

He was not.

"No! You idiot! Why would I kill Mother? That is a cardinal sin. Someone else did it."

(at this point, would Melkor not trying to kill Einar mean that this story does not fit his background?)

"Well, there was that sound of assasin`s gun.... I think it is familiar." Melkor speaks, feeling terrible headache at this point.

(It would still fit. You have already tried to kill him and initiated war with Erengard.)

"What assassin?" Einar asks.

"The one that tried to get me at he gardens... his weapon makes the same sound as the one`s that Moff Tarkin helped mi hire...."

You didn't hire him, Melkor. Janus did.

"The one that Janus hired."

Einar wipes at his brow with his sleeve.

"You mean to tell me that Janus hired an assassin to kill you, and now he's trying to off me instead?" Einar says. "I told you we had been played."

"You think that Janus is behind this all?!"

"Could be," Einar says. "If the Esgabath line were to end, he has more claim to the throne than most..."

"Well, he should not be far away..."

That is when you hear the familiar sound of the railgun on the other side of the courtyard...

"This is Arvus, let`s get to them and sort it out!". Speaks Melkor.

The railgun has actually been fired AT you...

Then Melkor will dodge and look for Arvus.

As it is, Arvus misses horribly. The railcharge sails clear and blows down a hedge.

"Well, I see you have failed your mission," Janus says, walking into the courtyard with his pistol aimed at you. Arvus is behind him, putting away the railgun and switching to his bowcaster. Commander Skall is not with them. "Unimpressive, Melkor."

"Have you done it, Janus? Was it you that killed my mother?"

"Your talent for deduction is unparalleled," Janus says. "Yes, it was I. So easy to do; a trusted friend of the family bringing her a drink, lacing it with arrow poison was all I needed to do. Her passing was a catalyst to all of this. And you never suspected me!"

"You turned us on each other," Einar replies, his uniform still smoking. He has his blasters trained on both Janus and Arvus. "You took advantage of our rivalry."

"It was far too easy," Janus says. "You would have killed each other before long anyway, I'm sure. I just helped you along."

Melkor just stares at Janus with empty eyes.

"Why Janus, I...I thought we are friends....you." He points his blaster at him, enraged.
