This is the ONLY attack that even looks like a stagger, and it doesn't look like much of one to me.All Thanos showed was that he could take a butt-kicking and still get up. It was an impressive showing of durability for sure, but Odin wasn't going all out against Thanos.

He was defeated. Hence the reason he was sprawled on the ground before Odin whom looked as if he'd recently took a stroll in the park. Nowhere was it ever written that Odin believed Thanos to be dead.

No, I don't agree that he made him stagger even once. The art doesn't show it. I said this is the only picture that even comes close to a stagger.

also what exactly would odin have done more to convince you that in fact he was going all out?
Or not taking it easy? 😬
"do you yeild" I didnt see it as Odin going easy on Thanos. I saw it as in , Odin hit him with practically everything hes got and Thanos is still standing. 🙂

Yeah, I'm sure Odin was going all out on Thanos. 🙄
Thanos was still standing because Odin relented his attack to give him a chance to give up. Odin could have easily kept beating Thanos up while he was on all fours.

He was only showing/teaching Thor a thing or two about the Odin Force. It's not like he actually grew to that height...Basically a vision through the force.
I know 😉
I was just trying to make sure that he didn't mean that size = power 🙂
In that case then Goliath & Giant man would own every one on earth and some cosmics.

It can make sense.
What if Odin thought he would have an easier time subduing Thanos with gungnir?

The Thanos hate really is sickening isnt it?
I love Thanos...he's probably been my favourite character in the last ten years, and I fight - violently - in favour of him (and Starlin) all over the internet, when it comes to the way he's been mistreated by other writers, (from 97-02), but even I am able to use common sense and see that Thanos' chances verus Odin, in any realm, are slim and none.
Is there any proof that Odin is significantly weaker outside of Asgard? Or did you just read that off a bio? He may be slightly weaker...but not weaker to the degree of Mephisto out of his realm.

I know size doesn't equal power. It was just a scan of Odin explaining to Thor the potential of the Odinforce power.

So do you think Thanos would have lost to Thor in the Blood and Thunder series and that's why he pulled out his gun to seal him?
