what time is the draft? and can we use a proxy to pick for us? (i'll be out of town most of saturday)

also: since it is first come first serve then reverse order, i assume that all participants MUST make their picks saturday or forefit the right to take place in the reverse order on sunday? ie--someone can't pick sunday morning (too late) then expect to pick first later on on sunday when the second draft begins.

is that correct?

yes, I supose so, You can let a proxy do that, since your not home. Newjak will determine everything about the actual drafting.

That seems to be the situation...Try to capitalize on early picks, etc.

Another point of clarification, if you please.
You addressed multiple versions rather sensably. However, could someone wanting to draft Hawkeye (for some reason) choose to draft him as his usual-self, armored get-up, Goliath II, or Ronin? Presumably feats from other era's would still be usable if appropriate, such as any number of archery feats from throughout hawkeye's career, even if you're fielding him in the armored get-up.

Well taking Hawkeye in as an example(I'm actually alluding to the M*A*S*H character in my username, through the devilish innuendo), If he were to be drafted, would pretty much the standard hawkeye, with the arrow, unless specified. You could use different versions if you really want too, but you are technically limited to the scans of what that version has done. You could use others should they be reasonable to the character's capabilities if you really want to argue that. So in conclusion, if you draft hawkeye, it's the standard version, unless specified, and chances are your limited to the feats and abilities of what that version has/can do.

I'm also considering on postponing the draft for an extra week in an attempt to get a few more members, opinions everyone?

You made a recruitment thread that has been up for a week. And there's 2 other tourneys still going on. 10's about as good as you'll get. 12 if you're lucky, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I'm not hating, just offering some practical advice.

Apart from the limitations you laid out when opening the thread (less physical might than Kryptonians, less than or equal to Jay Garrick's speed, overall powerset less than a GL) are there any other specific restrictions of which we should be aware?

Apart from those who fail the above tests, is there anyone else in Wonder Woman's tier in the KMC Tier Rankings that should be excluded, and for what reason if so?

Presuming we're still starting drafts this weekend, what time exactly will they begin? I'm leaving for the weekend that morning, so if they're starting much past breakfast-time, I'll need to arrange a proxy.

I personally asked about this. Certain people who are ranked mid, but should really be higher on the list, are out. Biggest example is Orion. I have been told that he is completely banned from this tournament. Also, given the speed cap, Wally, Bart and Barry are out I assume.

Quite a few of the people in that group (including those you mentioned) are out based on the above criteria, which is just as it should be. What I want to know is if there're any others that we're subtlly missing.

There are some that might be ambiguous, such as Fallen One or Firelord.

there is DEFINITELY some ambiguity. firelord should be fine, imo. fallen one is tougher. there are others that are question marks as well. i guess we get to vote on characters who are drafted and 75% gets them banned. we should be able to hash things out that way. of course that 75% should discount trick's vote since anyone who has seen a draft knows he votes to ban pretty well ANY character chosen . . .

i'm also curious about the time and the timezone of said time.

oh, and i'd say don't wait for more joiners. digi's right -- 2 other tournies going on and not near ending so 10 is about all we can hope for. then of course there will be the obligatory drop outs . . .

Any Herald of Galactus who has the full compliment of Power Cosmic abilities might conceivably fail the Green Lantern test. A specialist one like Firlord might be ok, with the understanding that while the source is the same, you're not getting the Surfer's level of power and versatility.

This shouldn't be the sort of tourney where ripping the planet in two or making the sun collapse into a black-hole are common tactics.

the drafts start at midnight est? 😕

and red said their is no amlagam draft this weekend. both drafts will be for single characters and next weekend will be the drafts for 2 amlagams.

did that change?

and i agree lam -- busting planets shouldn't be the tactic, but it WILL be given some of the amalgams we'll see. i'd give ww a good shot against firelord in a battle though he might take a slight majority. imo that should be the giude. if she's the top of the food chain in this, any character who can clearly and cleanly beat her 1on1 should be nixed. if there is a question as to who would win, then i say they should be allowed. that tends to be how i view drafts and draft choices but i tend to lean toward being a little more lenient than some do . . . 😬

Great. Does that supercede this post:

newjak and I decided that the first week, the first two drafts will be singles, then the next two are doubles, then the last week, single double.

...from the 24th where FH said we'd do two singles the first week?

Either way is cool by me, we just need to be sure we're all on the same page.

I just went on what he told me right now on MSN. If Im wrong, sorry, he can come clear that up himself.

You got it right Blair.

Friday night at Midnight Single drafts start.

Saturday night at Midnight Amalgam drats start.

Each one lasting for 24 hours.

will there be a time near the end where we can 'switch out' picks? we did that once and it was so damn much fun . . .

just a thought. 🙂

we were on the topic of who would be banned or not -- you said no superman types. does that include adam and cap marvel? what about someone like firestorm or bill?

are all 4 considered fair game? (sorry if i stole someone's thunder . . .) 😬

I already asked and captain marvel isn't allowed, so I'd assume the same applies to Black Adam.
