Ok then guys this is the general plan and outline as of right now. Matches will be going up Sunday night around 7ish.My general plan is to keep the brackets as close as possible and just add the people from the dead bracket Bran, Gundam, and PR into the toehr ones.
I'll separate DL and Lam, send them a PM and and give them the week to respond. If they do then we just do an bye week for one person in each pool, if they don't then it won't effect anything.
The new brackets will be
Pool A
Leo
BW
Charotte
Gundam
Lam????Pool B
Smurph
Akuki
Bran
PR
DL????I've gotten the final matches up and ready to go yet but by tomorrow I will have the battle fields ready, and the prep time so anyone and everyone can at least prepare to plan.
Also as to not penalize anyone who has had a match so far all previous battle experience will still be there.
Is that alright with everyone?
Originally posted by ZeitgeistIt's possible but probably wouldn't help that much considering some people have had two matches.
Why don't you just give Paul and Bran an extra fifteen seconds at the beginning of their prep to mess with powers/familiarize but not amp or create shit?Their partners would start prep at the normal time.

It doesn't matter anymore. I joined this tourney for fun, and that's probably all I can do now, is have fun in the debates.I probably can't amass enough points to get into the semi-finals, so it really doesn't matter anymore.
Right now, I just want to debate.
But thanks for reminding me I need to make sure everyone knew this. When I mean battle experience I just mean the memories from the battles, but the point totals will go back to zero to be fair to those who didn't get any matches in.
Originally posted by NewjakNah... that's even less fair.

Also, I'm just asking about the points because we were ready every time. Our opponents weren't. Which means that if the battles were posted...
Don't take away others points. I'd rather have no points, then to f*ck it up for everyone else.

That's not very fair for those of us who debated for our wins...
Taking away the points from people who could always re-earn them
Or putting people, with no points, in a pool with people who could have as much as two matches worth of points and only possibly three matches to make up the difference, thus really making it nigh impossible for them to advance to the championship match.
So which is it 😛
Originally posted by Mr. SlippyfistWith the circumstances involved it is nigh impossible to do that.
Personally... I think me and Pr should have gotten points after Trick b*tched out.But seriously... I don't want anyone else to get f*cked over.
You, PR, Gundam would all be put as a severe disadvantage going in with zero points and them having some.
I still think the best way is to kinda compromise, in that everyone gets reset to zero.
The people who did have matches though get to keep that thos memories that way they still have some small advantage for being put through two matches.
But if you and everyone else is willing to accept them keeping their points then I don't mind but if even one person objects I'm doing it my way. 😬

Letting Bran and Paul get the points they deserve for being prepared when neither of their opponents could even show for the battle
Or making all our work up to this point count for nothing? 😬

And what about Gundam 😬
And exactly how many points would they get for a win they never with no way of knowing what an outcome would have been. 😬
The point is that someone is going to get dicked over I'm trying to come up with the best solution for everyone in it.
Originally posted by NewjakHe entered late... shouldn't become a problem for the rest of the contestants.

If a boxer shows up to the ring and his opponent doesn't/can't, that's a win.
Goob and Trick both backed out of their match with Paul and Bran... which means a win for Paul and Bran.
Originally posted by NewjakIt's not our fault that the battles weren't posted... I had to send in our post like twice. And the second one I had to quickly retype at like 12 or so in the mourning just so we wouldn't get DQ'ed.

I thought that if the opponents were a no show, that we still get points for winning. Forfeit.
But that would mean that the people who did partake in debates would have been for no reason, other than to get experience. They devoted their time to the debates just to have the benefits stripped away.
Like I said, I'd rather have zero than to do it that way.
Anyway.
Gundam entered late. A battle after it started. At best he should get one point for trying to get his team ready for our battle. 😬
I've been as patient as I possibly could be. I've sat out two battles thinking that our battles would start sometime... I don't really see why I should be punished just because the other side couldn't partake in the debate.
But whatever. Can I just please have a real match next time?
Originally posted by ZeitgeistHow is that even remotely fair to him at all. With this line of thinking basically the guy gets to join a tournament for the sole purpose of not being able to win at ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL 😬

Except the match never got put up because at the time we were waiting on Trick but then later he decided to drop out. Which yes would normally count as a forfeit except the match never got put up for a forfeit it never happened. Why cause we were looking for a replacement for Trick hence why that Pool got put on hold.
And even with one win under their belt they would still be going in at a one match down scenario.
And now I'm gonna be frank I'm not gonna argue about this is just the way it is going to be Smurph. If everyone agrees that you can keep points fine, but if anyone at all objects they are gone.
I don't care whether you think it is fair or not. This is my judgment call and on a personal level I find it much more unfair with the changes to give people no chance instead of giving everyone and equal chance of winning.
Originally posted by Mr. SlippyfistDon't worry you will have match everyone so far has proven reliable so as long as I get taken care of what I need to get taken care of you will have on 😛

And you were never meant to be punished your matches were only put on hold until we cold get the replacements, the only problem is that this thing got delayed so much that even more people dropped out, or stopped sending things in. Since we are not waiting on Red anymore that won't be a problem.
Originally posted by NewjakHey, you were the one starting this "what's more unfair" thing.

Personally, I find it much less fair to nix all of our hard work because the guys in charge couldn't get their shit together, and because somebody entered late, rather than just distribute the points out and they should be obviously distributed.
Originally posted by NewjakTo be blunt, that sounds like BS. Whether you guys got around to posting a match or not shouldn't matter. For my match, as soon as the deadline struck, if the write-ups weren't in, then the poster was out. And I have it on good authority that Trick said from the beginning he didn't give a shit about it. So... yeah, strikes me to be a mighty fine excuse.

Bran and Paul were ready from beginning, and somebody's getting dicked over... because a single match wasn't posted? WTF technicality is that?
Originally posted by NewjakThe points should be distributed 2, 2, and 1... but whether they get dicked over is, again, your call. I know Paul's prep was ready long before they needed to get it in. Hell, it was ready for the first match... but again, screw us over thanks to a faulty technicality.
And even with one win under their belt they would still be going in at a one match down scenario.
Originally posted by Newjak... Ok, fine, your call. And if this continues to happen throughout the tournament, or similar BS, I'll join Blair in Spain. srug

But I'll sit quietly through this, as inept as it would be.
Originally posted by NewjakI find taking away an edge that everybody else has worked for because you can't bring yourself to compensate for screwing over Paul and Bran, and because one guy entered late extremely "unfair".

With all respect to Gundam, entering a tournament late comes with drawbacks. Not being able to reset a whole tournament for one man is one of those drawbacks.
He still can win. It's just harder.
