Superman vs Black Adam(punchfest)

No matter how amped up or how enraged and not holding back Superman is would not beat Black Adam. Yes Superman can get all amped up and full of rage..but let's not forget what happened when Black Adam was amped up and full of rage, he took on and beat 4 to 5 Super Teams at the same time and won. This is a feat that neither superman or captain marvel have ever done...even when evil. The only one who did that was Superboy Prime whose strength and power levels were stronger than the average kryptonians. Black Adam was able to stack his powers because of the gods...

When Gail penned the Superman vs. Black Adam fight, she was under the false impression that Black Adam was much more powerful than Captain Marvel. I don't think her intention was to show Superman as being more powerful than Adam in that comic, but she admits that she didn't understand the characters. And it is just one showing.

The characters are fairly evenly matched on a normal day, with Superman probably having a bit more power, but magic evening it out (extreme magic vulnerability isn't usually brought into play vs. a Shazammer). However, on a good day, Superman can potentially cream Black Adam. He simply has a bigger upside with respect to portrayals. Sometimes they are explained (mental blocks, holding back, dynamic mentally-regulated power, etc.) and sometimes he just is that powerful that day, with no reason provided.

Yep. Been here before--a long time ago. But the place is quite different now. There was a time when opinions were pretty insane here. But they seem to have matured, and are not that different from those found at ICT or Alavaro.

You seem to be a bit less extreme here abhil, possibly because this board seems to be less in denial about Superman, at the least, being a bit special and frequently capable of showings above his standard peer group.
It always saddens me when people can't see such an obvious truth. His uber showings are often dictated by the nature of his character, and so he isn't easy to handicap on a battle board. But that doesn't make them any less true.

I hate Superman, he's so boring.

Actually, ICT treats Superman much more fairly than it used to. But there are still a lot of vocal opponents to the idea that there is anything unique about him. Which is stupid, because the first thing any writer will tell you is that Superman is a special character.
