Adam didn't look "much" more powerful, though.

They've rarely faced each other... I think there was one confrontation in Power of Shazam that didn't turn into a fight, and there was a Pre Crisis showing. And Supes struggled against Adam in that PC showing, as well...

It's purely a "My own villain" thing, imo. If Cap was fighting General Zod, he'd probably struggle as much against him as Supes struggles against Adam, because only Superman gets to defeat him, and vice versa...

Superman wins. Adam will always falter in the end, imo.

Supes wins.

Supermans villain crushed Captain Marvels villain.. Easily. This makes Captain Marvel look pretty bad, indirectly, considering how much trouble Cap had with him.
