I try to actively debate with him. I see it differently. I have also seen Marvel ko him easily with Cheapshots and with Superman at full power.

I am basing my reasoning on this one fight, nope. The two have a rich history of being close to equal in terms of strength and power. I feel basing their entire history on the one interaction of an Eclipso possession square off is spinning things. Do you disagree with my wisdom in that assessment ?

Captain Marvel has koed him twice with cheap shots.

So has Superman. Without any magic weakness playing up a factor. One you've already seen where Cap failed to KO him with a cheapshot but Superman did it casually.

This is the other one. Cap needs magical lightning to knock Superman out, Superman does it without it. Not hard to guess who is stronger.

Abhi, stop twisting facts. We don't know who it was who knocked him out; it could've been anyone with a cape.

My money's on Doc Midnite.

Or Robin.

mmm

Forgot this, Eclipsed Superman beat Cap to near death.

While he was fighting JLA+LEGION at the same time while weakening all the time, Cap was hospitalized.

Eclipso possessed anyone taints the fight for both since it is out of character for both considering the circumstances.

Strength plays a factor in Captain Marvel knocking Supermsn out as well. It's not all about magic. The second time Cap knocked Superman out when he was possessed by one of the Sins, magic wasn't in play iirc.

Cheapshots are not the best way to mesure character interactions, forum fights won't have cheapchots to begin with so I wouldn't make much an argument from them.

Obviously reducing the characters to a couple of showings is not the way to go, but for people who draw a decisive victor for this battle I think such showings murk their argument.

Using a fight where Superman was possessed by Eclipso is an accurate way of judging this fight?

I said I didn't base it off this fight alone. Their history shows it is a very close matchup so highlighting one showing and saying this person easily wins is ignoring the entire body of work.

So you agree with my wise words ? Hard to me argue with me if you're a reasonable person that is.

Nope, it was specifically due to magic and getting lucky as stated by Cap himself.

Totally wrong. Cap surrounded himself with magical lightning.

Not to mention he was powered up by Sin as he manhandles Adam and absorbs his power just one page later.

It was revealed later that since Johnny Sorrow had petrified Shazam earlier, his powers were transferred to Cap and when Sin was released from Cap, Shazam was revived as his powers were returned to him.

So Cap needs Shazam's powers and magical lightning to knock Superman out with a cheapshot. Superman only needs his fists.

You know I'm too reasonable for my own good uhuh

Basically my point is that Abhi actually makes a cohesive argument, it looks good with the information shown so far. That doesn't mean is true, but I think he has done a good job without downright misrepresenting the books.

I disagree since his entire focus is on a few showings while ignoring the bulk of the history here.

Which can be applied to every argument ever. You cannot reduce a entire character's history in a single argument, that would be unreadable.

I think the argument is cohesive -not final-, but it might be contradictory with other showings.

Such as ? I always look to every showing before I enter my verdict.

It isn't since it focuses on possession battles while ignoring the rest.

It was always my impression that Superman was always a step above black Adam, and Captain Marvel in nearly every physical aspect. Black Adam tends to look better because he puts it on the line when he fights, while Superman is always worried about killing someone.

While eclipsed we get a full example at how hard he would hit if he had no restraints. The only problem is that when he fought Captain Marvel he was unable to KO him. This could have also been due to Eclipso wanting to take possession of Marvel because he would be the perfect vessel for the creature due to his magical nature. This means that he may have been holding back as well on the other hand. IMO Superman is above Teth and Marvel, but not to the point that his power dwarfs their own.

He's just arguing about it and you're just trying to dismiss it -I don't say you should accept it as proof, but you can easily consider it on its context-. Nobody is forbiding you to discuss different showings and bringing all that "rest" that it's ignored.

Have you really read every showing of Superman? if I took your argument at face value you'd be more of a Superman fan than Abhi is 😐

He hasn't read every appearance of Superman either. The point is to look at their entire history not focus on a few fights which alter the character in order to paint a picture.

But arguments can only be made about a few key moments anyways. What I'm getting is that instead of nitpicking this showing it would've been more productive to ask for others.

It was a possession so it isn't a fair look either way of how the characters interact.
