Once everyone drafts, I will posts match schedules. This will be a round-robin format, with everyone fighting at least 2 matches. You need to win 2 matches out of three matches in the first round to advance. You will not fight the same opponent in the first round. And will do my best to keep people from fighting against the same person in this tournament.

Or do mergers automatically get all the powers from those amalgamated that don't stack (as well as the ability to use them as well as their amalgamated partners).
Will I need to specify that my body is Hulk's to get his strength and such
or is it assumed that with my body being Kent's he obtains Hulk's strength and such.

As to Dr. Fate, I will allow Hector Hall, if the current version chosen is too powerful. I haven't read the comic you posted, while I appreciate you taking the time to post scans, I don't want to take it out of context. Which Dr. Fate version is in the comic you posted? Specifically the character or human host of Dr. Fate in that scan.
The current version was not chosen, there are two Kent Nelsons, a more recent Dr Kent V Nelson which may be in the 6 point range and a Golden Age Kent Nelson, who double KOed with the Spectre, and did so at only half-helm.
Even Hector Hall fights Mordru who, if you recall, was deemed too powerful for the 20 point category.

Wasn't Hall merged with or aided by Nabu in that fight 😕

I appreciate your input, and I just want to make sure I am not understanding the scans out of context. Is Spectre weakened in anyway? Is this a weak form for spectre? Is Dr. Fate boosted in anyway that is makes him above his average? Are there any specific events before hand that affected the actual fight itself and outcome of this battle?

Also with regards to the tournament rules, if someone is drafting a character who is empowered due to possession by another character would they not have to draft both characters?
I'm pretty sure he's just reading scan for scan in the respect thread and can't give context.
Half Masked Fate was about 1/4th as powerful as full masked Fate
The same full masked Fate that got his ass kicked all over the place by Spectre in the posted scans.
1/4 powered Half-Masked Fate = Spectre > Full Masked Fate > Half Masked Fate = Spectre?

So then you wouldn't object to anyone drafting the Spectre for 6 points I presume?
Oh no this is all your logic. I would have problems with people drafting Spectre for 6 points like how someone would have problems drafting Mephisto as he is in his realm for 6 points or Ego the living planet being drafted for 6 points (based on them getting beaten by 6 pointers).
You posted scans where Dr. Fate gets dominated by Spectre (and states it) then said Fate at half mask is assumed to be = Spectre.
Ergo
Weaker Half Masked Fate = Spectre > Full Masked Fate > Weaker Half Masked Fate = Spectre

Actually all I said was that at half-helm Fate (Nelson) and Spectre (Corrigan) double KOed, which they did on panel. I didn't state anything of Fate being equal to the Spectre, but such showings against a character clearly above 10 and 20 points should most definitely be taken into account when assigning the value of Fate (Nelson).
Meanwhile arguing about Mogo, because he's a planet. Lulztastic.

And in order to Double KO what is required? You sure as hell don't double KO someone under normal circumstance by being much weaker. Hence your broken logic.

Like how Superman's showings against Imperiex, Doomsday, Darkseid, etc and Silver Surfer's showings against Aegis and Teneberous, Ego, Mephisto, etc, Thor skewering Celestials and driving off Hungry Galactus, etc etc etc should be taken into account when drafting them?
K guys, I have to take off my participant cap and put on the mod cap for a second:
Evangel's decisions and methods have been getting questioned constantly despite the fact that she's putting on a tournament on her own. Recent outbursts have been a direct result of the frustration over the negativity present in all aspects of the tournament.
I got a PM saying that she felt like no one was actually enjoying the tourney, they were just complaining, and if neither the participants or herself was enjoying it, why continue?
To an extent, I can agree, because it's the endless bickering that goes on forever that saps tourneys of their fun. Why do it if this is all it will be?
So we have a couple choices: continue like we are and kill the tournament. Or attempt to act civil and enjoy ourselves. Stacks, make your point then let Evangel make a decision...and be patient rather than demanding one whenever you think you need it. You have yet to do that ONCE, as several pages of circular arguing can attest to.
This goes for everyone else as well. If you can't agree, don't enter, or at least don't insult the host who is doing this of her own accord. This has happened with at least Trick and possibly others as well.
If you can't all do that much, then I would agree that the tourney shouldn't happen. The choice is ours. At this point, I'd respond if Evangel needs anything else clarified, but otherwise lay your arguments to rest and continue on with the tournament.

Originally posted by Papa SmurphI didn't say they shouldn't. I've made it relatively clear I found some of the categorization of characters out of line with their shown capabilities.

Although if people intend to use such showings, it elevates the character's value beyond the intended level of what they paid for disingenuously. This goes for Dr Strange, this goes for Green Lanterns. It is a massive loophole, that if exploited will result in the tournament not being a measure of debating, but of deceptiveness.
Curiosity dictates I ask, you had no intention of using the instances against the Spectre or similar high level showings as demonstration of Dr Fate's magical prowess?

I understand the viewpoint but instead of acting like her rules were flawless, Evangel could have asked for help in making the tourney more foolproof. Now Laminator is banned... for what?
I'm terrible at reading emotions but I believe it involved 'being a total dick.'

Then why post it in the first place? Intentionally going out your way to be difficult? A one time feat of Fate double KOing Spectre (which you don't even know the specifics behind) now gets precedence over the other 30 or so years of his existence?

So you agree drafting a planet GL was a annoyance based move?

Nope. But nice vague terminology with "similar high level showings." What's that mean?
