OK guys. I have had enough complaining via PM by people, so I am just going to have to cut it off here. I am probably going to make a a bunch of people mad here, but I have to make a decision.

[b]Rulings:

If, as a character, you are above Herald level before you enter this tournament, then you cannot use the rules to weaken your character to a lower level.

1. Since people don't like my earlier ruling, saying it leaves the door open, if you want Dr. Strange go with Current.

2.The Doctor is above Herald level, please choose again.

3. Metron's free ability to travel through time and space is too much, please choose again.

4. If you choose Dr. Fate, you get whatever version is weakest and matches Herald level.

5. As to Mogo, since personally I have been looking for information on Mogo all over the place and found that the only thing that hurt Mogo was yellow Meteorites and yellow asteroids and a direct invasion by Sinestro Corps and Ranx.

Since generally most Herald beings can smash planets, I was going to allow Mogo at 6. However, the planet smashing abilities of most Herald beings (such as Terrax, Silver Surfer, Morg, etc) are at the upper most echelon of their power.

And most Herald beings don't go around smashing planets unless absolutely pushed to do so. Allowing Mogo, who is a sentient planet, in addition a Green Lantern, plus has a power source second only OA itself, would not be fair to others currently listed at six points.

Also, someone said to me in PM, I won't name who, says that if cyborg superman gets the sinestro rings and suddenly becomes a whole more lot powerful and is 20 points, then Mogo shouldn't be allowed for six.

- Sorry I was thinking of allowing him, but I received too many complaints about him on here, and especially in PM mostly talking about its power source and citing Sinestro Invasion.

If Capt Spaulding and Mr. Biscuits do not draft by midnight central standard time, then they are removed from this tournament.

SO..........................If there are any other objections let me know now, and stop complaining to me in PM. Do so here in this thread. That is what this thread is for.

*complaining sounds*

Oh wait I wasn't trying to be clever so this means nothing to me 😛

Hector Hall is acceptable?

Wait, I am confused... Is Strange now being divided into current and classic? In that case, I want classic.

Professor Zoom -6 points
Dr. Strange (drafted as classic.) -6 points

Amalgam Level 1 - 4 points
BFR - 5 points
Prep Time level 2 - 2 points
Knowledge of the opposition level 2 -2 points

Mind: Strange, with his mystic knowledge and artifacts.
Body: Zoom, with his super speed.

Name: Speed Limit

Define "classic".

As in what? Before issue XX? Before year XXXX? Before event X?

I guess it would be his showings before Acts of Vengeance...

but you have to rember Mordru ahd just faced the JSA + tons of other heroes he had to be a little tired out
so hector wasn't facing him at 100%
True. But then there's also the fight between the two at the beginning of JSA, when he had just become the new Fate and did very well against Mordru. Unbeknownst to Fate, Mordru was using a spell to absorb his magics throughout the fight and used Fates power against him, but through most of the fight they traded spell for spell and Fate did win in the end, not outright, but through a clever ruse.

I don't think Mordru was too taxed before this fight, he had to regenerate his hand but other than that I don't think he had really suffered much damage.

Correct me if my Acts of Vengeance date is wrong.

So you want Dr. Strange as he was during 1990? Which would mean he has no knowledge of what has happened in the marvel universe in the passed 18 years. I don't understand why you would want that.

you do know that classic strange clashed with shuma-gorath and dormmamu right?

Meh.

It's probably good, to avoid the inevitable bitching later.

Would I then be allowed to rework my picks, considering that I won't be drafting Mogo for higher?

Be my guest. This is what this time period for Draft 4 is for.

My mistake, classic strange would be more like everything before 2000. Still eight years behind, but I don't care so much about that.

You could just outright say you want to remove low showings from recent years.

Well since the difference between current and classic is widely considered to be a result of Joe Quesada, I feel that showings before Joe Quesada became editor-in-chief would be a good definition of classic.

That would be black "evil" magic, which Dr. Strange rarely has ever employed. While he has done it, I am sure it is with the same rarity, as Thor's Godblast, and such.

All characters must act in character.

i guess thats fine. 🙂

Dr. Strange was only able to defeat Shuma-Gorath head on because he'd absorbed someone elses power. I have not purchased power stealing nor power boosting, and thus it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to achieve that level of power. As well as, like Evangel pointed out, it is out of character.

I thought the difference was widely considered to be that Current Strange is rather sucky and loses to ninjas, while Classic Strange reached into the Sub-Skyfather ranges with his magics. Although I suppose that may require buying things. I still don't see how he's below Apocalypse of Champion.

From what i've been hearing on this forum it was Joe Quesada that had Strange toned down.

Anyway, classic Strange has some good feats but most of the time he hangs with Herald Characters, and no greater. Especially since many of his better feats require lots of prep, expensive abilities or non-standard equiptment.

So you want Dr. Strange without any prior knowledge of the passed 8 years? I still don't understand why you would want that.

Personally, to me, Dr. Strange is still the same person as he was all those years ago. Even in the most recent World War Hulk, he admitted that he could snuff out Hulk's life in an instant if he chose to do so.

It's not like anyone is going to pull out a scan of World War Hulk crushing Dr. Strange's hands and say "HA! You drafted a weak punk Dr. Strange. I am not voting for you King Kandy!"

We all know what Dr. Strange is capable of. We know his potential, and while he has had debatable low-end showings in recent years, that doesn't take away from who he is or what he CAN do.
