Alright, with that settled, I need a clarification:

I altered my strategy this round just in case the power transference is illegal, but is it? Also, did the temporary transference act as my "power boost" that I bought, even though it didn't last and wasn't in affect for the battle?

I'll probably just avoid it altogether in subsequent rounds, but I'd like to know just for curiosity's sake.

I asked Evangel if I could transfer speed. She couldn't do it during prep but I could do it during the fight.

I'm finding it hard to imagine that as anything OTHER then Power boosting, which you bought. No way that's illegal.

Alright. I'll just stick with the tp link to be safe then. I'd like to use my power boost for something that actually helps in-battle.

Thanks for the clarification guys.

Special Tournament Round:"Last Chance Finale"

All participants who lost in their respective “best of three” match-ups will be sent to this showdown. It is the very edge of despair. It is truly your last chance to reach for stars and grasp victory or fall to the cold dead embrace of defeat.

Each pool will have 3 people fighting at once in a single match.

Pool A: 3 people – 1 winner
Pool B: 3 people – 1 winner
Pool C: 3 people – 1 winner

Pool X: 3 winners from pools A-C – 1 winner

The winner from Pool X will be sent to the semi-finals with the winners from the regular rounds.

I would pull out the violation card. Power amplification was clearly stated by Evan earlier. Transferring powers from one character to another is simply Power Absorption.

4 – Power Boosting: 4 points for each character boosted and if this is done in prep, it is added on to prep points

10 – Power Absorbtion: Absorb multiple super-powers from foes/allies (only applicable to characters who have the ability to absorb super-powers) ie Rogue.

I would like to know if characters retain memories? Yes/No

And with Amalgam Characters, how is this applied? Albiet, do you retain memories from both the characters merged, or just the person that retains the Mind?

Because I was under the impression, that you did not retain any memories at all. You can pull out any feat done in its prior history or character run.

They don't retain memories from prior matches in the tournament. And I would imagine it would depend on who your "mind" is for the amalgam, and that would have that character's memories.

Thanks for pointing that out, I need to update the match days.

I am going to double the amount of matches for the second round. I will see how well this works and if it is feasible.

So my match should start now right?

okay i'm going to be out for most of the evening so I won't be able to post mys strategy till about 7 or 8

This is for everyone with prep,

I've noticed some people don't get how buying prep affects your write-up, so I'll let you know.

With prep, (especially with Dr. Doom or another prep character) you have assume the very minimum of what the specified character can create with 36 hours of prep (or whatever prep you have) and extensive knowledge of the opponent (whatever knowledge you bought). Then taking advantage of what the character can do at his very best with 36 prep is left up to the poster and his write up.

"You can't just go, ha, your write-up sucks! Therefore your prep is null and void and you wasted it!"

It's more like, "well I don't agree with your prep in your write-up, but I know what your character is capable of with prep, so you still get my vote"

or

"Well I agree with most of your prep, but I don't think your character is capable of some of those things in prep, so I am going to give my vote for the opponent."

In short: Assume the least, but be prepared for the best.

Since it's clear that Trick is doing this tournament for sh*ts and giggles, and no longer taking it seriously because his plan fell through, I'd like to make an official motion to invalidate his votes from any future matches. Some may claim this is too far, but I think it more than called for. When it's clear that the integrity of the tournament is compromised by his "f*ck it" attitude toward not just participation (which is fine) but also judging (which isn't) I consider it to be unfair to all competitors to allow him to have a say. My recent conversation with him in my match exemplifies his demeanor perfectly.

I don't pretend to think that every judge reads all posts and is completely unbiased, including myself (though many do, and I count myself among them the vast majority of the time). But none, to my knowledge or intuition, treat voting with the casual disdain for objectivity that Trick has displayed.

So no, I don't agree with him or his stance, but this is purely a tournament decision to propose this, since 1 vote in a match shouldn't and doesn't mean much to me in the grand scheme of things. If he had displayed the same attitude and made the same vote in mine and Cresh's match, but I wasn't one of the competitors, I'd still be making this motion. It wasn't who he voted for, but how and why he voted for them, that matters. Further, I wouldn't turn a vendetta (which this isn't) into a public spectacle, because I abhor such occurrences, and only wish for this tourney, which Trick has bad-mouthed from the very beginning, to be as fair and unbiased for all competitors as possible. I think allowing him to continue to vote would compromise that.

I don't expect Trick to be happy about this, but then again I don't care. I care about the integrity of the tourney and its competition.

And I don't consider the voting in this to be 'judging'.

I second the motion, it is clear that Trickster is trying his hardest to hurt the tourney now that he realizes he can't win in it.

I don't think anyone would object

Maybe Trickster, but, who cares?

I have no say in this tourney, so my opinion would count for very little. But I think that now since the issue is being formally addressed it might prompt the user "TricksterPriest" to consider a change of attitude. I understand the need to protect the intergrity of the tournament, but I read the Digi vs. Cresh Tourney thread and I think that given the circumstances an official warning and a second chance may be in everyone's best interest.
I realize that "TricksterPriest" has his days (I was there during the Team Tourney and I think everyone has seen those *cough*"drunk*cough* posts of his) but if he can at least learn to respect the work that Evangel94 and all it's participants have put into this tournament then I think maybe he should be given a second chance.

*sigh* Not taking it seriously because my plan fell threw? Entirely wrong. I was never taking it seriously in the first place. 😛

I rescind my statement.
