EVANGEL94's Final Slugfest Tournament Discussion Thread: Questions, Comments, & Talk

Started by DigiMark00776 pages

I thought about drafting Earth X Absorbing Man for, among other reasons, taking out Drtzy. He pwned Wanda by becoming an equation that negated her own probability altering.

But then I realized there were bigger fish to fry in the tourney, and I had to draft on the entirety of their usefulness, not individual matchups. Thus, Thor.

And The Doctor could probably do that anti-equation thing too. But like Bentley said, it's not like most people have a feat of taking out math equations.

For Drtzy, you can only assume two things: Absolute minimum GL skills and mind wiping. We don't know how powerful the mid wiping is though.

Just for the record I'm dismissing any consideration of the GL math equation because I consider it a non-characters, no showings for me equals no way to discuss it, so I'm going to set it aside for good or bad (as if he wasn't there). I don't see how this character was allowed in the first place 😬
😐

Even if you assume the minimum, assume the minimum. Don't assume the non-existence.

If he doesn't have feats, treat it so and assume that you feel is right. Like it or not, he's still in the battle.

Lets say....

Theoretically....

Someone didn't believe Sym could possibly beat Smurph.

However, they didn't really see any of Smurph's attacks being all too effective on Sym, either.

If someone interpreted the current match as an effective stalemate...

Should we give the win to smurph on the basis of outlasting his opponent?

Or should we just fall back to the character rosters themselves and make our own guess?

Good idea! We should all totally ignore characters that participants spent points on. Just because, you know, we don't like them? 😕.
Sounds good to me, my team is the only team that actually exists. Therefore I win this tourney right now with my lesbian orgy!

Well how do I know for certain that the things I perceive and not just the delusions of a mind that's actually floating in nothingness? For all I know I could be a disembodied mind that's gone insane due to sheer boredom and all of existence is my delusion... I could be a tengu... where
Everything... is my... delusion!

Someone answer my question. 🙁.

You should vote for that Sym fellow, he sounds like a real winner 😉

In your mind, is there anyway for Symmetric Chaos to immobilize or knock unconscious the opposing team for at least 10 minutes?

There's a reason Mr. Immortal wins every "to the death" match on the board.

Not that this is to the death, but even if it's to the incapacitation, only one of the two teams can win...

Yeah, I understand that.

But what if we feel that neither team could incapacitate/kill/knock out the opposing team for ten minutes?

EDIT: Without simply abstaining altogether.

Should I give you the win on the basis of Sym's team eventually being incapacitated come the big crunch at the end of time, while Mr. Immortal goes on to become the next universe's Galan or some such?

That just doesn't seem like a very decisive victory...

I'd say it's your call, since we're allowed to bring our own ideas about the characters into our judging, not solely what is presented to us.

Not that that will help you decide ( 😛 ), but meh.

No. Incapacitation. Even if Sym's team eventually collapses from exhaustion, and Loa walks up and sticks her hand in his chest... end game.

Flash and Superman have great endurance, but he wants to be constantly moving, fighting mentally and switching dimensions (self-BFR, but, y'know...).

He'll eventually go down.

If you don't like either write-up, discard them, then fall back on the roster and your personal knowledge of the characters.

No worries.

I'll be quiet again. 🙂

See, you non-voting apathetic kiddies out there-

This is proof that every vote counts! 🙂

Except for those noobs who voted for Sym.

😂

well, my eventual non-vote actually counted quite a bit in the outcome
