And that, people, is why Darthgoober is ridiculously good at Tourneys.
Because he has his writeup done before his match starts? I dunno...seems like most of us do that. Not to take anything away from goober, of course, but it seems a random point to pick out as applause-worthy. I'd actually think he might need to change it because he hasn't seen my team in action yet. If I were him, I would've waited until after my match with Cresh.

some random thoughts now that i've finally stopped to look things over in this tournament (been following the matches peripherally)
anyway, in case anyone was interested . . .
1. Tony Stark
Dr. Doom (616) (4) Points
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Doom

Gladiator "Kallark" (616) (6) Points

--strong amalgam, no doubt, but there are stronger. tony's debating skills will be a big deciding factor in his matches, as well. from what i've seen, he's a decent debater, but given a couple other participants and their own teams, can't see tony being a real threat to the crown.
2. Creshosk
Bethany Cabe [x], Betty Banner [x], Catwoman [x], Black Widow [x], Elektra [x], Gwen Stacy [x], Gwenny Lou Sabuki [x], Harley Quinn [x], Jubilee [x], Lady Shiva [x], Lana Lang [x], Lois Lane [x], Mary Jane Watson [x], Talia al Ghul [x], Tana Moon [x], Sara Grey [x], Valerie Cooper [x] -17
Empath [x]
😂
i love cresh and i know for a fact that when he decides to do so he is among the better (and most frustrating) debaters on the forum. methinks this is a little tongue-in-cheek for him. even given that though, i'd be careful against him. if nothing else he'll have you chasing your tail in a debate!
3. id369
Amlagam Name: The Rapture
6 - Shaman X-Man (Mind)
4- Jan Grey (Body)
one of my personal faves. read SOME of id's recent match but not closely enough to render a vote. the plans seemed mostly sound from what i was able to put together. should have a great ability to draw on power and power boost. in sheer power, one of the best and id has impressed me with his debating skills at times. a threat in this, though i'm not sure he's experienced enough to be a real threat in this.

my thoughts here are pretty much the same as they are for tony. stacks is a decent debater. this is a weaker amlagam than kk's because of the lack of speed to take more serious advantage of fate's prepping ability. given how these things have been going recently (seems the characters involved are becoming less and less important and the prep is becoming moreso -- everything seems to come down to debunking prep nowadays and coming up with the best 'plan' BEFORE the match starts. an unfortunate trend, imo . . .) it would have been better for stacks to have found a way to fully maximize his ability to prep. not a threat to win this, imo.
5. darthgoober
The Silver Adaptoid(Amalgam Lv. 1= 4 pts)
Silver Surfer(Body)= 6 pts
http://www.marvel.com/universe/Silver_Surfer
Super Adaptoid(Mind)= 6 pts
http://www.marvel.com/universe/Super-Adaptoid
damn tough. ss's speed and versatility with adaptoid's almost limitless ability to take any powers anyone i the tourney possesses . . . certainly a favourite though i think 2 other teams could potentially beat him. goob's maybe the best debater in this event though, so it'll be a tall order to take him down.
6. Symmetric Chaos
Karnak - 2

Flash - 6
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wally_West
Superman - 6
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman
Amaglam v2 - 6
Batman - 1
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman
Amalgam Name: Pete
i love pete. and sym is up there with goob in debating skills, imo. sym is one of the teams that could beat goob. with access to speed force abilities he is the other clear favourite. imo, the odds favor a goob/sym final because of the speed of both teams.
7. Devil Lance
Firestorm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firestorm_%28comics%29
(Raymond/ Stein Combo) - 6 points
Level 1 Amalgam - 4 points
King Hawk
composed of
Hawkman http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawkman
(Carter Hall with claw of Horus) 4 points Mind - Carter's fighting skills, nth metal, claw of horrus, hawk man suit , other standard equipment, memories of his other lives
Aquaman http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquaman
(Orin with water hand) 4 points Body- strength, durabilty, senses, speed, reflexes, water hand, telepathy, etc etc
good team, solid debater. still not enough to overcome the top teams imo. dl will get some wins though and give some headaches.
8. psycho gundam
draft 1-juggernaut-5
draft 2-space gem-10
draft 3-power gem-10
not fan of this one. juggs is picked in every tournament and proves to be a porr choice everytime. if psycho can prove me wrong, more power to him. ltd high showings with the gem will make it difficult to disprove though. good luck with him. 🙂
9. King Kandy
Professor Zoom -6 points
Dr. Strange (drafted as classic.) -6 points
had kk utilized speed force like sym, i could say he would be the biggest threat in this and may have been my favourite. strange's prep with zoom is imo either best or second best in this tournament. kk is s solid debater. my guess is he falls to sym or goob in the semi-final . . . he may have an outside chance to make the finals though.
10. TricksterPriest
Metron, 6 pts
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metron_%28comics%29
Waverider, 6pts
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waverider_%28comics%29
Rip Hunter, 1pt
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rip_Hunter
doh
hard to comment now that i read a little of that debacle of a first match. i liked the individual characters -- metron and waverider are beasts -- and i think tp could still recover, but again, his debating skills and planning may hold him. still, dangerous characters and he could end up getting some wins . . .
12. Digimark007
The Doctor (6)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_(Wildstorm)#Habib_Ben_Hassan
Lex Luthor (1)
http://en.dcdatabaseproject.com/Lex_Luthor_%28New_Earth%29
Thor (6)

Ultimate Reed Richards (2)
http://www.marvel.com/universe/Mister_Fantastic_(Ultimate)
prolly the best prep potential in the event. the doctor is a brilliant choice and creates versatility only ss might match. digi/sym/goob are all pretty evenly matched, imo, and a combo of any of those 3 could be in the finals with kk rounding out my top 4. digi's only problem MAY be countering the speed advantage of his opponents. if he can do that, he may have the best chance to win this of anyone. go get 'em partner! 😄
not sure if smurph ever picked some new guys . . . 😬

well then . . . i like your odds. a lot. 🙂 depending on his overall power level of course, i doubt there is anyone in the tourney that would beat galactus, though there is ONE character that may give you trouble. i can't really say who though, for fear of maybe giving away a strategy. actually, thinking about, i guess there might be TWO individual characters, both with feats that might be proven to be able to take out the big g. 🙂

I am not competing in any official manner. I am simply going to duel all the competitors in various unofficial matches.

Digimark007 vs Creshosk is still going on so I don't want to say who wins officially yet, but it definitely looks like the voters are going for Digimark. How does everyone feel about the current win/loss record of everyone? Did it turn out as expected? Was there any suprising results?
