What does that reply achieve? You're asking me "What?".
Clearly, I'm saying "Shame the story mode is shit.", in Halo. As stated in the post you quoted.
Why do people do that? Just express disbelief specifically. Don't just say "What?!". Obviously, the point you're making is "I can't believe you think that.", or if you're curious as to why, ask me why.
Don't just say "What?", because then I have to repeat myself when I shouldn't. That does for anyone who uses the internet; reply properly.

And I didn't stay through the whole credits and so I thought the Chief died.. and that made me sad too.
How old were you when you played FF7 for the first time? Not to mention Johnson had appeared in 3 previous game and after he survived the first Halo's destruction people got used to him never dying.

Halo's story is amazing compared to Gears and all of its grunting.

Story MODE, as in, single player.
As for story, both of them are extremely generic. The one thing making Gears better is that I can actually look at it and say "Yes, that looks like a war.". Halo looks like a European cyber dance rave with Fisher Price water guns.

I liked gears 2 but the first one was better IMO. Dom's story with his wife didn't really have a purpose other to show off some very mediocre acting and the whole game didn't feel as epic as I thought it would aside from the very beginning and the end. And did anyone else feel like they didn't improve much on the gameplay? The only changes they made was that you can crawl when you die (big whoop) you can take locust as hostages (which I think I did once) and they threw in a new weapon or two. The new 'vehicles' were really irritating to drive and what the hell happened to the kryll and berserkers??? Those guys were my favorite parts from the first game and they took them out!
All around Gears 2 is still a great game, but it seems more like an expansion than a true sequel

You love all three Halo games.
Are you seriously in any position to say Gears 2 did nothing but add a few new weapons and vehicles? That's literally Halo's pride, adding bits of new stuff and having the fanboys go crazy.
Gears did more in two games than Halo did in three, or would probably do in four.
The didn't need to add more weapons, because unlike Halo's NERF guns, they actually have purpose. There's no need to carry any automatic weapon other than the Lancer, and you have the choice between the shotgun, Torque Bow, sniper rifle and Hammerburst. They added a single new pistol, but it's actually very helpful, and then there's the mortar launcher and the Mulcher.
Then they added the use of a shield/plantable, human shield, varied executions.
All they DID add was worth it and generally makes the game more fun, in my opinion. Gears has only been around for two games, they changed enough of the gameplay to keep it interesting. They didn't change MUCH, but they changed the right things.
What has Halo done? Added different paintjobbed Warthogs, a quad bike and some more, continually laughable Fisher Price guns.
Halo 3 and the first Halo have more in common than Gears and Gears 2. You're generally in no position to say "They only added a new weapon and a few vehicles.". Your favourite series got by on using multiplayer as an excuse.

Oh hey AC!!! How are you? How was you're Thanksgiving????
K but like seriously you're not making a lot of sense here. Lets go over what halo 2 improved upon vs what Gears 2 improved
Halo 2 added two new enemies. Gears 2 took away two enemies and replaced them with stupid little exploding things.
Halo 2 added two new vehicles (wraith and covenant transport thing) and modified two (the ghost and warthog) while Gears 2 added the tank with really annoying controls IMO and the brumak, if you consider that to be a vehicle. And if we're including vehicles that can't be driven than halo added the covenant bus, phantoms and the large UNSC and covenant ships from the opening while Gears added the big drill things from the beginning.
Halo 2 added the covenant carbine, beam rifle, SMGs, battle rifle, fuel rod gun, energy sword, gauss cannon, and plasma cannon while gears simply added the mortar and the mulchar (the mortar I'll admit, was very cool)
You're argument that gears didn't need to add new weapons is ridiculous. Using the same two weapons over and over and over again gets really boring after a while. (in my case the sniper and lancer)
K I have to go but I'll post the rest later

See, you are impressed by the addition of two enemies.
Halo added 2.
Gears 2 added Flame Grunts, Bolters, Cyclopses, Maulers, Flame Boomers, Grinders, the Leviathan, Kantus guards, Tickers, Bloodmounts etc. All of which take a different approach to fighting them, in Horde for example.
In the game, the areas themselves not only dictate how you fight an enemy, but the enemies themselves take strategy. Halo is "Hide behind a rock until the enemy reloads.". You deal with them the same way you'd deal with any enemy.
The A.I. isn't as good on Halo, the enemies aren't nearly as intimidating either. Like I said, they all look like cartoon characters. Master Chief is just a regular hero, Marcus Fenix and co actually look and sound like believable veterans of war, and the war looks like a war, not Fun House with Pat Sharp.

So what? The vehicles in Gears are part of a gaming section, the vehicles in Halo are so common that they're pointless and unnoticable. Fact is, the only reason Halo has those vehicles is because the worlds are so open and boring that walking around them would be as fun as watching paint dry.

Yeah, and all of Halo's weapons remind me of things I'd see kids holding during waterfights. It doesn't matter if you add 50 new weapons or five, if they're all useless to me, you may as well have added none. Gears added less new weaponry but they're all much better weapons.
Every time you hit an enemy with so much as a single pistol shot, you see blood fly, you hear the impact of the shot. You feel like you're doing something with Gears' weapons. With Halo, it's as though you're in a pillow fight, and the only reason the opponent went down was because they got annoyed at the mildly inconvenient bullets flying in their general direction.

It doesn't for me, but that's subjective and that's my point. Gears balanced their weaponry between being fun and not having pathetic amounts of needless weaponry. Halo's initial premise behind the gimmick of only having two guns was realism, so that you COULDN'T go around with a massive arsenal. They bailed out of that and included a million guns, because people who play that game generally need that.
Gears is strong enough on its own merit.

they actually do work very well. If you weren't such a biased bastard against halo and ifi you actually appreciated that I usually don't try and immediately start arguments with you then maybe you coul understand some of my points.
I'm pretty sure that half of the enemies you named are the same species with different armor or whatever, and if not than they all look the same to me anyway which makes them boring... except for the bloodmounts. Either way, it doesn't matter if you add 50 new enemies or 5, if they're all useless to me, you may as well have added none.
Umm the AI is just as good as gears, the thing is they're TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAMES. Halo is 1st person and gears is 3rd, hence why the enemies in gears take cover more. And if you ask me I think the characters in gears look cartoonish. Have you ever seen pictrues of war veterans??? they don't look like 350 pound jacked, giants.
Your points about the vehicles and weapons are pointless because they're all based on your opinion... and we all know that you hate halo and love gears. Saying that the weapons and vehicles aren't effective or don't look as cool is retarded. You're just trying to cover up the fact that Gears 2 didn't make nearly as many improvements as Halo 2 did (Oh and I forgot to mention dual weilding and boarding in halo for the new features)
And again, you feel like you're doing something witih Gears weapons because it's a completely different game. Gears is much more violent than Halo is, which doesn't make it a better game, it just makes it different.
