Gears of War 2!!!

I just started playing Gears of War (1) and it's pretty freaking great. Probably the best shooter I ever played on a console (single player anyways). Very, very enjoyable. Will probably get Gears of War 2 in the next couple of months, after I finished 1. How are they different anyways?

Not a whole lot of difference, just some minor gameplay ones. You can move when downed, different ways of treating downed enemies (shield, ulta executions), some new guns.

The pacing of the campaign is much better for the sequel, there's quite a bit more variety to the encounters, not just emergence hole after emergence hole. Story is better as well.

Not really. When I first got the game, it took me forever to get into a match. Now though, I get in within like four minutes or less.

Damn, the only multiplayer game i can ever get into is, Horde. Maybe everyone is playing on the new map pack but i can't see paying $15 for something that no one ever plays. People don't even play co-op campaign anymore. It's a shame too because i think the multiplayer is actually quite fun and im not a fan of multiplayer deathmatches. The only problem i can find is the size of the maps. The maps are very very small.

I can't really see really big maps working for Gears, it would get too annoying walking or roadie running that far of a distance...and I can get into Wingman really really quick. Same with horde, those are the only two I really play.

So did they patch it yet? Because I remember in the first weekend it took too long to find matches. Then the 2nd week it was a gamer's paradise because matchmaking was working flawlessly. Then the NXE hit and everything went back to being shitty. So...is it shorter again?

Have you guys tried the new maps and will they eventually be free?

Got this game for Christmas, gonna try it tomorrow!

They are charging 800 points so the maps will probably never be free 😂.

Which maps would that be? My version of GoW 2 came with a code for 5 free maps (The Flashback map-pack), that one everyone got or the one you talk about now?

combustible map pack. The levels didn't come with the special edition or reserved copy. they are completely new. The only level i played from the combustible map pack was the gas station. Check youtube, i'm sure there is footage up by now.

Just finished it yesterday. I had lots of fun playing it. A bit dissapointed by the end. A couple loose ends (The Queen, Skorge). Then again that probably mean theylll be back for GoW3. I dont like the online multiplayer too much.

I think Skorge died. That fall should have killed him, but then again they can just bring him back. Skorge was cool but I rather see a new face.

The fall could be used to bring him back for 3 since he wasnt underground when it was flooded. He should be back but not as the final boss. Theres a few things that need explaining too. Like why does the queen looks human? How she knows Marcus' father?

The PC version of Gears 1 has extra levels. I can already suspect that some 360 gamers that don't have PC are probably pissed off. I swear if Epic makes a PC version of Gears 2 with extra levels, I'm gonna kick their butts.
