On a side note, I'm just surprised so many of you are gullible. Even if she was sane do you think she could have gotten out of there alive anyway. She was doomed from the get-go.

Who here has said they assumed Maria would be living through it? We knew she was going to die, just think of the part in the story they were at. They can't bring her to Nexus, she would be killed no matter what! So they had to kill her off. And they did a good job of it.

And a side note for you also...I am surprised you think it is Maria we/I am feeling bad for as well as feeling all sympathetic for. When really, it is Dom, he has been with us the past two games, THE ENTIRE TIME, he has not left Marcus's side actually throughout the duration of both games, which CANNOT be said for Johnson. What a situation to be in for him!

He has been looking for his wife for OVER 10 years, then finds her in a Locust prisoner of war camp where they are being tortured and forced Marcus's buddy into suicide in such a short time. And he finds her, remembers her the way she was when he last saw her, and then comes to reality and she is a broken human made barely of skin and bones, with many markings on her to show the abuse she has been through and by looking at her, is still going through...and then she doesn't even remember him, can't recognise him. She can't even speak to him, can't stand properly. And this is all within 2 minutes time.

And then after all this...he is forced to shoot his own wife.

Yeah. It's not Maria we are feeling sorry for (mind you though, her situation does suck, but it's not why it is more emotional), we are feeling for Dom and what he has to do and what has been through.

To me at least, thats a helluva lot more emotional then Johnson.

I never said I found Johnson emotional btw.

My apologies then, although you did talk about how it wasn't very emotional. And so I was explaining how I wasn't thinking it emotional for Maria, but more for Dom.

The only emotional part to me was Chief's death.

Chief isn't dead...

And you spoke of how the Dom/Maria situation wasn't emotional.

I should have finished it, because before the credits, it did seem....

And yes to the second, I did.

Wait...wait...pull this car over.

You didn't even finish Halo?

Are...what?

You should watch after the credits, it surprises me how few people actually do, I always stay.

And yes, so I was addressing that.

No, before the credits finished I really thought he was dead.

Well yeah, it was implied...but you just said you should finish it...and now your saying you already have?

The statement was what I should have finished.

Your losing me Nac.

This statement I should have added that "I waited after." Why would I say before the credits, f I didn't know something was after the credits?

I misunderstood. You had said before that the only emotional part was the Chief's death. And assuming, like millions of others, you didn't watch after the credits, so after I told you he wasn't dead, I just assumed the only part to see he wasn't dead was after the credits. So that is why I thought you added in "before the credits." I figured you got that out of my post.

Hey, this is neat too, I don't agree with everything in it, but it offers different opinions to parts of the story that didn't go answered:

I beat gears 2 last night with my cousin on co-op mode on hardcore.

it took us about 2 weeks. we played it eveyday for about an hour or two.

I found the game long. I thought it was over like 4 different times towards the end. But I liked it better than I did gears 1. And it looks like there's gonna be a gears 3 I think. If you wait till after the (long) credits you'll see what I mean.

earlier I remember writing down that gears 2 is basically gears 1.2. I no longer feel that way. gears 2 is a great and fittng sequel. Suicidally. (if that's even a word) bringing the fight to the grubs was a fantasitc idea. I like the use of the enemy monster vehicles. the games kinda reflected real life with how a soldier has to improvise and adapt in battle with only the resources they have presently even if it belongs to the enemy..

I give the game a 9/10. it still did remind me of gears 1 (it is still the same war, after all) but 90% of the time while playing I knew I was in a whole different gears world.

Yeah, i thought the developers did a great job at creating a new experience while keeping the game play and tone very familiar to the first game. The differences from Gears 1 and Gears 2 are very slight but those changes develop through out the game until you fully realize them. I think the new level designs are probably the most noticable. With the addition of the interactive levels set on rails, ex...,The vehicles, creatures and Brumaks. The takes on a more epic feel.

My favorite additions were the inclusion of shields and the ability to take enemies as body shields as well as the ability to plant grenades on enemies or objects. The first Gears forced you to play the game in a very specific manner incorporating the strategy of taking cover and waiting for your shot. With the addition of the shields and the ability to plant grenades on enemies you had more freedom to decide when you wanted to take cover or run and gun. In the later levels when you were able to get shields from enemies. I was an unstoppable killing machine lol

You could stick enemies with grenades in Gears 1 😛

It was actually overpowered before they patched it. You could literally tag people from 4-5 feet away.

You can't use the shield in an unrealistic way either, which I thought was good.

Obviously when holding something as heavy as that, you aren't going to be able to use a shotgun or Lancer, so it's good that they only let you use a pistol.
