I have yet to find a source where crucifixion was just a way to torture someone. It was deemed so painful that Roman citizens couldn't even be executed that way. It was reserved for rebels, slaves, pirates, and the like. If you didn't die of the flogging, exhaustion, or dehydration, you died on the cross. It is basically a very painful impalement. Although it is possible to survive crucifixion, very few records exist of that happening and with all the pressure to kill Jesus, if he survived crucifixion, they would have killed him some other way.
im gonna take the five year olds approach and say PROVE IT 😆 you cant really. its just a statement of faith as in most eligions. we dont know what happened and neither do the writters of the bible considering it was written 40 YEARS LATER. (im being harsh today i apologize)

You can feel for a heartbeat without stethoscopes. Also, the Romans weren't stupid. If you read just how crucifixtion works, it's about impossible to survive, and when they took Jesus down, they still weren't sure he was dead so they stabbed him for good measure.

But my point was that if the Bible's purpose is just to offer us philosophy, there would be no need for a resurrection story at all, regardless of whether or not it was true.

Yes you can feel for a heart beat but they were not aware of how low the heart can beat and the person still remain alive, when a body goes into trauma it can slow the heart beat down to almost nothing to conserve of blood. The beat will be very slow and almost undetectable, even today doctors miss this. If he also had low blood pressure it makes the pulse harder to detect, other medical conditions can affect this as well. I could site thousands of cases where modern doctors missed the sings of life without proper equipment. Stabbing a person is not a sure way to kill them, people have survived multiple stab wounds and unless you hit vital organs you can recover.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, chickenlover. Like in court, you're the one trying to disprove something rather than affirm it, so the burden of proof is on you.

However you are trying to prove that he is divine so the burden of proof would be one you. That he was human is not in question, you are trying to prove that he was something more.

Sure, Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny might also be real.
see that is the evolution of superstition

That is the point exactly, and I’m sorry I don’t buy your excess that he was too busy to write anything down. No one is that busy that they don’t have any free time themselves, even soliders in combat find time to write to their loved ones.

* in the human aspect, yes... but Jesus, according to the Bible, is not human... His three-year preaching is very rigid, not too mention He was always persecuted and wanted to be killed by the Jews...

That is not what he asked you, not that you believe in the Bible but that there could be writings from Jesus and that the church is hiding them from the public. This is not a far fetched idea, they hide information all the time from the public when it threatens their power or image from money issues, child pornography to rape and the list goes on.

* so you are talking about the Catholic church? nope, they may be hiding several nasty things but Jesus' writing is none of them... Catholicism and Christianity are two different things... Christianity originated from the Bible while Catholicism is what we have today in Vatican, Rome... in the Bible, Jesus did not write anything, if so, Saint Luke should have mentioned it...

There is only one kind of proof. Your beliefs are not proof.

* it still depends on what kind of proof a person is accepting... Muslims accept Qur'an as proof, Christians accept the Bible as proof... don't you accept the teachings of Buddha as proof?

Or Jesus is not the son of god or the wisdom of god in the way that you are interpreting the scripture. I believe that you have taken something figurative and interpreted it literally.

* you should not inject your personal view to others... you have said that in "Christian mythology", Jesus was the son of god, and could have had angels write books for him... i replied, according to the Bible, Jesus IS the Son of God and it is impossible for Him to be incapable of writing... you contradict your own argument, i just answered in parallel to your premise...

Then why did Jesus not specify?

* why should He specify? His disciples are not that stupid...

I believe your faith is misplaced.

* that's your belief... considering you're a Buddhist, i also belief that your faith is misplaced... so, fair enough?

Well there is a problem there that he is not fully human or a god, you can’t be 100% of one thing and a 100% of another.

* true, because believing Jesus is 100% divine and 100% human is NOT Biblical... according to the Bible, Jesus is divine, in the form of God, and was manifested in the flesh... so basically, His body is human but Jesus Himself is divine...

* just for clarification... Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, etc. are all Catholic figures... they are not related in Christianity and the Bible...

oh really Christianity are those who follow ther word of this alleged jesus christ, among them you find the catholics, they are just one of numerous denominations. It says more about the religion as a whole when you see how many followers of it it has and how many who really have a differnt doctrine on the same word

so who is the ones YOU would say are the ones that practice christianity then

😆

Peejayd, you do realize that everything (or just about) you say is only supported by the "because the Bible tells me so" mindset?

I still say we should worship the mighty circle! It's never ending. Keeps me busy all day long...round and round and round..

You are confusing belief with proof. Proof would be like dropping an apple and having it hit the ground. A Christian, a Muslim and a Buddhist can all drop an apple and the apple will fall to the ground regardless of the persons religion.

How do you know that? They may have been very stupid.

You seem to misunderstand most everything I say to you. As a Christian, you should have your faith in god and not in the people who wrote the bible.

Again you did not get my point at all.
