Why would slapping the In-betweener be mentioned when it did absolutley nothing to him? I read that issue and In-betweener didn't feel a thing, hes an abstract you know.
It didn't just take Iron Man it owned Iron Man and Jack of hearts.

Yeah they wound up losing, but you should mention more that its galactus tech. I think people are assuming its tech that Frank regularly uses down on ironman's level when you mention ironman.
THe bots themselves are default herald level by being derived from galactus in the same way the heralds are.
While I doubt that frank could use the ring (He's a bit more cynical than batman for very similar reasons) those bots are really the key to this.

Cap could attack In-betweener and it would have the same result.

I think I made a very good case that Punisher's cyncism doesn't matter. It can depend on the circumstances.
The real threat on DC earth are people like Nabu and Phantom Stranger not the JLA.

Originally posted by DeadlineTo which I disagree. I don't think you've presented a decent enough point. Years of cynicism doesn't go away that easily, especially if the event has not actually occured yet.

The poison of cynicism is something that spreads down to the core of a person's being.
At this point even giving him his family back won't immediatly erase the cynicism, if its even possible to completely remove it.
Frank is a cynic. As is batman. Even if they're both heroes steriving to save the world from the evil's they perceive. They still both assume the worst far too often.
I'm willing to admit the Green Lantern ring wouldn't work for me, even though I'm more realist that cynic, I am a bit too cynical.
Originally posted by DeadlineI have to agree here. Those Punisher bots would prove quite the threat.

Im sorry thats just theory. In the comics when Punisher is given the opportunity to change his situation he tends to take it or at least give it a lot of thought.. Also the stipulation's state he has 100 years.

Which is the point of this thread.
100 years won't really help. cyincism is something helps people with prep. Because they expect the worse they prepare for it.
Unless he spends the next hundred years in sugaryhyper mode because of just how gosh darn rootin' tootin' happy he will be to have his family back... It's not going to help.
Because changing a situation does not change who a person is. And a person can't just will themselves to change.
Frank's cynicism is something that gives him an edge.
