well they are, thats a proven fact.LOL. well when you see me change my sig later on this year-and it will be sometime this year, just dont know exactly when, when you see me change it to saying "9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB,PEOPLE WHO DONT ACCEPT THAT,ARE AFRAID OF THE TRUTH,"well maybe THEN you'll be convinced that I would MUCH rather talk about THAT and how were screwed if ron paul doesnt get elected.Because eventually,I DO plan to have my sig say that.Just dont know when.unlike what A.C tells ya,I AM over how hollywood screwed up those movies and would MUCH rather talk about that and how Ron Paul needs to get elected or were screwed.
again, until this topic is back on The Incredible Hulk, count me out,Im not going to take the bait from A.C that you all have.
that'd be interesting but, in films it's not really possible to do justice to the comic Hulk.
you need super-villains on the scale of Superman to begin to do any +actual+ damage to Hulk, and without that kind of powerful attack the healing just won't look impressive at all.
in the comics, recently, Strange channelled a near-abstract God in order to get the power to beat Hulk. with every punch, his fist went straight-through Hulk's chest and out of his torso... yet within a panel or two, Hulk was recovered back to normal... he's even "functionally immortal", according to Maestro Hulk.
that's probably the only real issue I have with Hulk movies, they can never truly begin to show just what an awesomely insane amount of power Banner tries to restrain, when angry.
The villain is Abomination; he's more than powerful enough to damage the Hulk.
He's been hurt several times in the comics, he's had all his skin and a huge portion of his muscle mass stripped off of him, yet he grew/healed it back in a matter of seconds. He's also had his gut completely ripped open. I'm fairly certain there are more.

Not canon...but still.
On a different note, why do Comic Book Publisher tend to increase their heroes strength on a regular basis?

Stronger = more sales, maybe?
I don't think the Hulk has ever increased in strength, unlike Superman who's gone up/down/up/down. I think Hulk has been at the "has no upper limit" since conception, i.e. "The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets."

yep the flesh being burned off and stuff has happened, that would be interesting to see, though who could do that to Hulk given that it took Vector to do that.

Maybe. Though they held it in some limits for some time, didn't they?
Personally I dislike immensely powerful superheroes a bit. Just doesn't seem as interesting to me.

remember, he was the only hero capable of fighting Onslaught, the only one actually holding up a mountain that Thor et al couldn't support.
he's been stated to have infinite strength since god knows when, even The Beyonder stated that about him.
Originally posted by janus77Onslaught happened 30 years after his initial appearance. I remember reading a few Hulk comics I quite enjoyed, maybe he never had the limit, but he sure was oftentimes written as just someone that is pretty strong but not solar system destroying kinda strong. Maybe it's just a fondness I had in my youth though, it might be misguided.
nah, Hulk's never had any limits as such, just plot device situations that prevented/obstructed him from going all out.remember, he was the only hero capable of fighting Onslaught, the only one actually holding up a mountain that Thor et al couldn't support.

dunno, there's comics from back in the early days where Hulk's pretty much negating the laws of physics by strength alone... or opening bunkers and shielding heroes from blasts that even Thor couldn't manage.
Hulk's basically been as weak as the story necessitates, as most of the time, the emphasis is on the struggle between Banner and The Hulk or Banner attempting to live with the repercussions of the fear that Hulk induces in the general population or within the Superhero population - the reason why The Avengers were formed, iirc.
well, physics and comics generally have a tortured relationship.
Superman flies, Flash goes faster than light, Batman can bat-kick just about anything... and Spiderman ... can get a date 😐.
Hulk has defied the laws of physics from quite a long time back now, he's repulsed energy beams with his hands, punched the "time stream" (basically punched through time) and some other stuff too. it's just what the character does.

Now hold on just one minute there. I thought Chuck Norris was the only one who could punch the time stream???

I'm not talking about the super-powers per se, but in the way they're used. I'm fine with Hulk being strong enough to lift a mountain, just that the mountain itself wouldn't stay together, as the surface area of Hulk's hand putting that much pressure would simply go into the rock/earth and not lift it. See?
Like I said, that's stupid writing

Didn't he lift the mountain in Secret Wars? I would love for them to make that into a movie.

Hulk "braced" a whole mountain range, bigger than the Andes. and in Planet Hulk, he literally threw a mountain at an army. and in the biggest feat so far, he literally holds a planet together with his hands!
in comics, the physics is supposed to bring tension and focus to the action, never to constrain the narrative. so Hulk braces a mountain without it crumbling under its own weight, Superman does similar things.
