Are you talking about the Pens? If so, i'm really not sure what you mean. It has taken years for Pittsburgh to build their current team. Most of their star and core players have been acquired through the draft. The rest have been gathered through hard trades. Pittsburgh has lost more talent than they have gained over the past years.
With the quote from Backfire, I clearly meant that the Red Wings build their teams through the draft.
I said this because he was comparing them to the Yankees.
Pittsburgh was never in the discussion at all. I know the Penguins got the majority of players through trades and draft picks. They got extremely lucky with the lottery pick of Crosby.
Damn straight he was last night. Malking was unstoppable and seems he's solved his invisibility problem for the moment. Still, this team is playing golf right now if it weren't for Crosby.
But nonetheless, for a team, a Malkin vs. Crosby issue is a nice problem to have.
BTW, I'm going to Game 3 tomorrow night. Section 304, Row F!!!!

What, scoring seven goals against one of the best Goalies in the league? Yeah, i sure hope the Pens have that problem when playing the Wings. 😂
Nah, you do have a point, their defense was suffering and Fluery had an off night but they are definitely coming together as a team like they did last year in the semi-finals. I think the Defense does a great job at shoveling garbage but they have a big problem with getting beat on the rush. The one thing that surprised me about last nights game was the Pens stamina. That is one thing that i thought has been missing this season. Although, the Pens did break Washington down they seem to be getting fatigued a lot easier where as last year they had legs that never tired.

Yeah, it also helped that Lemieux was scouting him for years. You know, The Pens almost could have had Ovechkin and Crosby? I forgot but it was the same year that the Pens got Malkin because they missed out on the first pick. I know many people around these parts always mention that but i think Malkin is better suited for the Pens.
