After the Anthem:BTW, notice the amount of red in the stands down in the lower level. In the Upper Deck, it was about 40% black and gold.

Seems like I took a bunch of pictures of Eric Staal, doesn't it? I guess this proves that someone who was invisible can have a lot of ice time.

And the final pic of the night. If you look closely at the jumbotron thing you'll see that Kunitz was the 3rd star.

I think they have a good chance of beating Detroit. I think Osgood is going to prove weak. I think Crosby and Malkin are simply going to overwhelm him.
That's what they said about him last year. Hopefully this year is true.
But Detriot had a pretty easy playoff schedule.
Columbus - might be a good team in the coming years but first time ever in the playoffs with a rookie goaltender.
Anaheim - good team, but was a pretty late playoff team.
Chicago - well, just like Columbus, filled with young people.
Yeah, i think the Penguins are going to take the Cup with relative ease. Everyone who has needed to step up their game has done so. Crosby and Malkin have both proven that they can make things happen even while being double covered. I wouldn't be surprised if Detroit is able to keep them off the scoring charts for a game or two but their stamina, agility and vision will prove to be a problem. I'm sure we will see these two have some big games in the finals. My biggest concern has been the Penguins Defense. When they switched their play style from trapping it seemed like they were getting beat far to often on the rush but i'm thinking they may have simply been getting used to the transition because the Pens defense had some astonishing games in the Washington and Carolina series. I'm thinking that Letang, Talbot,Staal, Kunitz and Guerin will make it hard for any team to devise a game plan.
Although, Detroit surprised me last year with how they were able to out skate the Penguins. It seemed like the Wings never got tired. If they can replicate that then they could very well break Fluery with a couple 40-50 shot nights.

Yeah, this year though Crosby and Malkin are both far better players than they were last year. And as you say, Detroid so far hasn't had any real overly offensive teams to contend with. It should be a great series, either way.
I just hope this year the Pens have defensive answers for Detroit's two biggest offensive thorns from last year's finals
1) Holmstrom playing pinball with the puck in front of Fleury
2) Franzen in open ice, basically breathing on the puck and it goes in
I don't know what the stats were, but Franzen's shooting percentage in last year's playoffs had to have been off the charts.
