Wheres the god damn hockey?

I was checking out the Caps message board this morning (checking, not trolling), and couldn't help but notice that one Cap fan may have taken the cake with the most intelligent post of all time from a Cap fan. It's only a matter of time before all Cap fans are on board with this:

i remember the Pens announcers talking about that a couple years ago
there are more goalies that are bulkier than real skinny and tiny, whether it be cause of their own body mass or their padding

but i think for a really big guy, itd be hard to keep up with the others when he has to come out of the net to make a play

Well if the guy is that fat to fill the net, he wouldnt be very athletic and will have stand on skates.

I got a better idea. Get a regular goalie and give him an 14XXXXXXXL jersey. Have him sit in front of the goal and duct-tape each corner of the jersey to each corner of the goal and no puck can get through.

I used to say that it never was a given to win a playoff series for any team that does make it to the playoffs.

The Pens would have to plan around the Canadiens' noisy crowd two days down the road.

Just like clockwork, Pens start with a fury and a goal in the first seven minutes. Then, after the 1st commercial break, cue the conservative meltdown.

The obvious response to that is to get two big-ass couch cushions, have the goalie cut out the middle, wear one like a shirt and the other like pants. Then, stitch each pillow corner to the jersey. I'd like to see a puck get through that.

Eastern Conference (pick one):

Boston Bruins
Montreal Canadiens
Philadelphia Flyers
Pittsburgh Penguins

Western Conference (pick one):

Chicago Blackhawks
Detroit Red Wings
San Jose Sharks
Vancouver Canucks

Washington Capitals.

Of the teams still remaining, I'd go with Philly.

The Detroit Red Wings still have a pretty nasty crowd...

When you said "worst," I interpretted that literally...as in lack of knowledge, cheering & booing at the wrong times for the wrong reasons, acting stupid, being stupid, etc...

But if I could contradict myself, I wouldn't put Philly as "worst" for those reasons. I would definitely put them as "nasty," though.

In your sense, the worst crowds can be tied between the San Jose Sharks, the Philadelphia Flyers and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

OK, maybe not the Penguins, but still, the Canadiens have a better, noisier crowd than the Penguins'. And, of course, very supportive; no opposing team playing the Canadiens could hope to have their supporters purchase a significant amount of tickets in the Bell Center for the Canadiens' home games, much less in the playoffs.
