Y'know, the best tactic Luke has is still to hold Neo still in the Force with Force Stasis, then manhandle him with the lightsaber. And even if Neo manages to fly forward and punch Luke, Luke still has Force Protection Bubble to protect him, or he can use that thing where he can make himself so immovable not even a black hole can move him.
It seems like somewhere in all of this, you all are overlooking something rather important.
However, before I get to that shouldn't the parameters be as such:
*both adversaries with 100% of their powers
*a lightsaber would absolutely destroy Neo (whoever hinted that he could survive a lightsaber attack, I mean c'mon)
*Neo should NOT be able to attack and destroy Luke the way he did Agent Smith in Matrix 1, because Luke is not a program
Having said all that, why would Neo even need to dodge a lightsaber? If he does not need to dodge bullets, then why the need to avoid a lightsaber? Both would kill Neo if he was hit in the right spot, but why would he need to avoid either? He doesn't. If Neo can nearly instantly rewrite the velocity of bullets to zero and pluck them out of the air, then why could he not rewrite the velocity of a lightsaber to zero?
One last point about the "less than 0 sec" Jedi reaction time someone else mentioned. That is not possible. To be able to see your opponent's move a second in advance is fine (and I concede that Luke would be able to see Neo's moves in advance); however, Luke would STILL have to react to these on-coming attacks (which would take some fraction of time no matter how small)...otherwise no Jedi/Sith would ever win a fight with one another.
Excellent- so we're all in agreement on the lightsaber issue, in that it would absolutely destroy Neo just like it would anyone else. And we also agree that Luke has the "precog" advantage.
But still, why is any of this an issue? If Neo does not need to dodge bullets, then why would he need to dodge a lightsaber? Both would kill him, and yet it doesn't matter. Neo can rewrite the velocity of bullets to zero and snatch them out of thin air, so why can't he do the same for a lightsaber?

Why can't he do the same to a fist? Why does have to make an actual effort to dodge and block someone's punch, or a kick?
