I felt the same way about Terminator: Salvation; I was hoping for the best and when I finally got around to seeing it, it confirmed my true feelings -that it would suck hardcore.
Bale, contrary to popular belief, was effective as John Connor. It had 2-3 really good action sequences as well. The last 20 minutes of the film involving the T-800 are GOLDEN. That particular sequence topped anything done that summer year, including any action sequence from Star Trek, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, District 9, G.I. Joe, etc.
Far from perfect. 6.5-7/10. Much better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine, ROTF, or G.I. Joe.
Terminator Salvation and Terminator 3 are about on the same level for me. Both very disappointing/not as good as their predecessors. The future-war that was hinted at in Terminator 2 was freaking awesome. That world, that setting, the magic of all that awesome stuff (in T2) was void in Salvation; which had a weak story, forgettable characters, worse action sequences than any of the other Terminator films, no Arnold and no war between the humans and the machines (that last one being what I really wanted to see). Also, Salvation looked like it was made for a fraction of the amount it was actually made for. Better than Wolverine, ROTF, and Joe? Sure. Better than District 9 or Star Trek? **** no, even that one scene. But that's just my opinion, of course, I respectfully disagree.
salvation was weak imo. i preferred T3 TBH. the fact that arnold was in it by itself just makes it better, but i liked the T-2000 (or whatever its called) and the action sequences were also good (the car chase was ****ing ace imo).
TS was just one big disappointment. plus christian bale is a lame actor, so that didnt help
he was bland in the batman movies as well, and bland in equilibrium, and bland in reign of fire, and bland in harsh times.
he just plays the same brooding/about to explode from a silent anger character in every movie he's in all the time... ill respect his acting ability when he doesnt play the same roles hes always type casted into.
as far as salvation is concerned, i expected john connor to be charismatic and at the least energetic. but no its just... christian bale brooding some more, with the occasional hoarse yell he used in TDK and this look on his face throughout like the entire movie
hes cute though
Bale is a great actor. He wan't great in Terminator Salvation. As far as the Batman films go, he had the "voice(didn't really bother me)". You can't deny he's easily the best Bruce Wayne.
Equilibrium? The very film is designed so that everyone in it is "bland". That's the very plot of the film.
That particular sequence in Terminator Salvation>any summer action sequence last year. This includes Star Trek and District 9. Of course, assessing the films in there entirety, Star Trek and District 9 shit on Terminator Salvation. Both are great films.
I have to say Star Trek>District 9 for me though. This may be attributed to the fact that I didn't get the chance to see District 8 at the cinema, and resorted to when it was released on DVD. I have only seen both films once, however, and I generally tend to think Star Trek is the slightly better film. Oh, and both Star Trek & District 9>Avatar & Iron Man 2.
As for Predators, I was very pleased with the potrayal of Wolf in AVP R. Hope in this film there is no teaming up with humans. New weapons is a must...... Really hope the film is a quality one, this is #1 priority. I'm looking forward to it and shall be there opening weekend.

id say the opposite actually. id say he makes a good batman (minus the voice. it was fine in begins) and a weak bruce wayne. clooney and keaton were better bruce waynes imo.

i dont agree at all

Bale's worth to the Batman series is underrated. He's doing a great job.
Although Keaton plays a great Batman and is an underrated Wayne. Not going to debate Clooney as I don't see it's of importance.
Ok. Fair enough. He's not as exciting as Downey Jr. playing Stark because Stark's character calls for him to be played that way. Wayne is reserved and has much more dimensions to him. He's much more complex than Stark.
Originally posted by Ms.MarvelIn many ways, Star Trek was a near-perfect summer blockbuster for what it was trying to do. It wasn't trying to be as dark as The Dark Knight, nor as blatantly stupid as ROTF. It took the formula of Iron Man, only with infinitely superior characters and development.
star trek was boring to me.
Pine was extremely effective as Kirk. The rest of the cast was nothing short of solid. And I mean everyone.
Great humor, characters, and action(which I don't exactly remember there being too much of).
