funny, even as i was typing i was wondering about this. i agree in principle it MAY work, but i've never seen him do that before or since, so i'm not sure WHAT he's capable of with it.

Is it just me, or did Thor seem more powerful in his early days?

and i don't know WHY exactly it wouldn't work. could he absorb and drain johnny storm? about bout ss? (kg would LOVE to hear that . . .) i'm saying i'v enever seen him do it before or since, so i'm not sure.
and yeah, i think thor was toughter back in the day. only because like pre-c supes, i think writers did whatever they wanted with his hammer. like stopping time, for example. since then, his powers have solidified. back then he was definitely the man. now there are so MANY uber tough heroes, he's just one of a large group.

Surfer and Thor are both energy manipulators, though. They would probably just drain one another, negating each others ability. Keep in mind, Surfer and Thor have had some heated battles.

ss absorbing magic? not that i've ever seen . . . seems like it would be a pretty one way draining party to me. the fact that thor HASN'T done that only adds to the inconsistent nature of that one-time-displayed ability.

Dan jurgens is a good writer and above average artisit. But he is superman fanboy and he started with Dc hello, of course he go along with superman.Thor is a Thunder God son of Odin skyfahter/Gaea Elder god of earth. DC won't let superman lose no matter what, they will let Batman lose but not Superman and that to me is bullsh**. At least powerful marvel characters can lose on any given story unlike superman.
If you really look at it there a lot of people in DC that will own Superman a$$, Wonder Woman, Martain Manhunter, Captain Marvel, Black Adam, Captain Atom, Darkseid, Orion, Doomsday etc.
You put Superman in the MArvel Universe he will get own or be somebody's b***h. Marvel has to many mystical power beings that will crush superman or turn him into a lap dog.
Wow that was the worst arguement ever, your saying that thor wins because superman is an alien????? do you realize how many aliens would whoop thors ass?? i mean hell franklin richards is a mutant so are you going to say that thor could beat him simlply because he is the son of odin???. I mean if your going to debate lets compare the character. First off you say and odin blast would kill Superman hell you even said hittin superman with thors hammer would kill him, first off superman has survived an explosion equal too 100 mega ton nukes going off at the same time yea so dont count him out to fast, second how do you expect thor to hit someone capable of moving faster then the speed of light i mean do you realize how fast the speed of light is that is 180000 miles a second not a min a second that mean superman could deliver literally millions of punches to thor in the time it take him to blink, and im trying to figure out who you think you are to say what a writer says or does in a comic is bs i mean what you pretty much are saying '" that comic is bull shit because i didnt like who won". i mean boo ****in hoo i dont like alot of out comes in comics so if superman beats thor in a comic it happened get over it nothing you say can change it.
