If Superman needs to breathe, how did he live in the Sun so long, where there is no oxygen? I was under the imperssion that he lived on sunlight alone.
Regardless, If he does need to breathe, (which I doubt,) I'm sure Superman could hold his breath for longer than 8 minutes. He's Super. 😉

Extremes of heat and cold have no effect on him and he has been see to skirt the photosphere of the sun (10,000,000 degrees F) with no long term side effects, probably due to a feedback loop of solar energy powering his biomatrix field.

Regardless, it takes light about 8 minutes to reach Earth from the Sun. 30 minutes is more than enough time if Superman is traveling at 50% of lightspeed. 😄

The comic is different than the show and the cartoon. JLU Superman is a shadow of comic Superman.
I know the issue. I think it's the one with Supergirl on the cover. That, or Darkseid and a super pissed Superman. They used a Boom Tube. That explains everything. Superman isn't FTL.
