Popularity HAS EVERYTHING TO DO... or maybe bad writing (and his stands for Marvel and DC characters alike in these books)

Why do everytime something goes the other way, you guys call it bad writting?

I mean sure there is some instances that Bad writting exist, but according to what I have seen here A LOT OF THINGS ARE BAD WRITTING, JUST BECAUSE THEY DON'T GO YOUR WAY

I disagree.

VENOM? RING ANY BELLS?

That flagship character comment is one of the WORST justifications for the Thor fan base

Jean Grey. Was pretty much holding Supes helpless.

it has nothing to do with personal preferences buddy...it has to do with comic consistency at least for me.

Wonderman easily breaking a GL shield, CA unable to break free from lead bonds, Wonder Woman breaking Quasar's constructs like they were nothing etc...

I'm not ether marvel or dc biased I just think these books were full of things that shouldn't be.

Superman is leading the polls.

thank god

We have such a observational member.

The original script for Avengers/JLA by Jim Shooter he had Thor and PC Superman in stalemate which please both sides. They should have went that route to please both sides. In long battle I said Thor due to he is more versatile than Superman, and arrange of powers that he can tap into.

Superman knocks him out after a couple pages.

All thanks to Superman fanboy sock accounts. 😐

Wonderman easily breaking a GL shield

It wasn't easy, Wonder Man had to struggle.

And that looked like a less experienced Kyle. Possibly even pre Circle of Fire.

yeah he struggled for a panel and then he took a blast unphased...
anyway. Kyle even in his inexperienced days has feats to beat WM solidly

Who creates those?

Or are you just butthurt that thor is losing?

I actually doubt it's you. Methinks it's the regular sock.

Like who?H1?

I would have no reason too since I see them as equals. But i voted for supes cuz there was no stalemate option and I like him slightly better.

You are wrong.

He also struggled with Mongul, because of concentration problems.

Basically, Wonder Man was far from his high end stuff, but not so bad considering middle ground GL deals. At the least, WM was having problems breaking through his shield. Compare with Lobo just destroying anything Gardner tried against him in their second fight.

But yeah, Kyle on all burners should destroy Wonder Man.

I like Busiek as a writer but damn if he didn't piss me off at times when it came to Thor. Sometimes he wrote Thor so well and gave us interesting takes, but at other times....

For one, I didn't like the fact that he thought of Thor's weather powers as more natural instead of supernatural. That scene in JLA/Avengers where he couldn't control the Red Tornado stands out. He also attached some random rule to Thor's teleportation. He couldn't teleport unless the season or some other stupidity was aliened correctly. He in general took the low end aspects of Thor. Durability and strength wise as well.

At times I'd think his Thor was a power house, then at others, I went wtf? True he wrote Thor as the most powerful of the Avengers, but any writer worth his salt would do the same.

His Thor's personality was also horrible at times. The scene where he threw Mjolnir at the reporters was just silly.

Fighting Superman to a near stalemate was probably Busiek Thor's greatest showing.

Thor still wins.

Red Tornado isn't normal weather, though.

any writer period writes thor as the most powerful of the avengers

CIS on makes Thor go physical against Clark yet again.

Superman 8/10.
