Nah, you are not 100% correct in your assumption. THe proof you are asking for is impossible...Hell I could say no one can prove that silver surfer can beat Rick Jones...and when no one comes up with evidence showing Silver Surfer beating rick jones...I can just begin posting like you. We all know silver surfer can beat a normal human being.
Just like all the sensible people have enough sense to know that surfer is more powerful than hal. His power cosmic has him do amazing feats all the time...none of which are unexpected. Hal jordan's greatest feats of all, which take all his effort and surprise even himself only match what surfer is expected to do.
Surfer is the favorite. This is not the Hulk vs Juggernaut thread where it's impossible to determine the winner. This is the thread where DC fanboys are trying to argue for their character.

From the decades of these characters publication, there are tons of examples where they perform to (or seemingly beyond) their best abilities, and ton's of examples where they go down easy for seemingly no reason. When I say stalemate, I'm giving both of them the benefit of the doubt that they will be performing at their "everyday best."
This is not their "dramatic moment greatest potential," as that gets us into Spiderman vs Firelord territory. Nor should we consider, "Ultimate Viscious Potential" like displays of power, as that's not how these chaacters operate either.
Truthfully, these guys both slack much of the time. At their peak, they can do almost anything. If there's an edge to be given, I'd give it to the Surfer, but that's not saying much.

That's why I'd give the fight to Surfer. While it is possible for the Surfer to lose the Power Cosmic, it's alot more difficult for him to lose it than for Hal to lose his ring.

allright, first of all, we all know, or should know, that silver surfer has already beaten kyle rayner green lantern, and if you dont believe me, check out dc vs marvel issue # 3 crossover, and he doesnt beat him by absorbing his energy or any of that nonsense that has benn posted on this forum. he and green lantern kyle rayner fly at each other with full force, and surfer comes out on top with ease.lanterns ring, at that battle, had the power to affect things yellow, unlike other green lantern rings, so rayners ring was / is more powerful than jordans ring.silver surfer is just stronger. then comes the argument that hal has more experience than rayner, true. but hals experience is fighting wussies like sinestro and manhunters.
