Personally, I think it really is an even split. Some of Hal's feats under John are soo uber and some are so bad. It really depends on what level these to are well known for. If Hal is going in guns blazing like he did with Krona, it could get quite easy . Obviously, same can be said for Surfer.
This match up comes down to who you like more, DC or Marvel/ Surfer, or Hal

Probably because Hal's feat is still fresh in the minds of readers and it was during Johns' last "hurrah" to speak as writer of the Green Lantern title.
Tends to happens with high heralds (and characters in general) that get a high end feat. People started arguing that DCnU Superman should solo Thor and Hulk and pretty much all of Marvel Earth because of his Earth benching feat after it was published.
