Thanks so much for that, seriously. Now I definitely will not be watching it. The only thing I was curious about you just answered for me. I'm glad I won't be wasting my money on it. 😘

Also, maybe it's my anti-Will Smith thing. i think he's overrated and annoying. Had it been another actor, I might give it a chance.

I doubt another actor could have carried this off very well

I can't think of anyone who could've done better in this role. Will Smith was perfect for this role. Again, Hancock needs to become a franchise player.

Will Smith was fine, but the movie wasn't all that great. Not something worth any sequels.

I totally disagree, Hancock is a superhero that needs to be franchised.

Why, exactly?

Will Smith was good in it like he is good in everything but the movie itself lacked a whole lot. For one there was not a good back story there was no big villain for him to fight and so on and so on. Hancock was okay but not great no sequels is needed for this the first was enough.

Suck it.

I don't really think the first movie needed a big villain or anything for him to fight. It was basically establishing Hancock so I feel it was perfect the way it was.

Now that he is no longer a drunk, he's basically Superman. Why bother.

Eh, no, he's not. He's...just not.

Well, the movie was decent. Decent laughs and cool scenes to show off his power but the back story was very, very tacked on. It could have been awesome but they threw it together too quick.

Plus, it assumes a lot of other stuff about the beings like them (I don't know how to use spoiler tags so I can't say exactly but about them all "grouping together"😉 that leaves stuff open for a sequel. The mood is deceptive because no one sees some of the stuff coming that happens. The plot pacing was just weird for me.

7/10.

Just saw it. I personally enjoyed it and kept up with the backstory easily, but acknowledge it was kinda rushed The action was spectacular. I got some good laughs from it as well. Overall, I would give it an 8.5 or a 9.

Spoiler:
The back story concerning the weakness of their species is NOT original. Basically, their soul mate is their kryptonite. At first, I thought the "eagle" was actually a phoenix, representative of Hancock's continually "coming back" after his encounters with his soul mate. That was a "fail" on my part when there was no explanation or development there. They'll probably write some sort of excuse, justification, or back-story for the Eagle to explain why they selected something that just looked cool. "Mary Embrey" had control over the elements like "Storm"...which was kind of cool. Again, we've "seen it" before, though. The movie had a shallow feel to it, but ending where Will got pissed and Charlize was dying was pretty good as far as acting and scene execution goes. The criminal development for Red's character was waaaaaay too underdeveloped...which is sad because he had more than enough screen time and dialogue. However, it WAS more or less intended to be a comedy so I shouldn't have my expectations so high

Over all, I liked the movie and I don't feel my $9 were wasted.

Wow, I only paid about $5.50.

Anyway, the movie was awesome, loved every second of it. I thought it was fairly original.

I thought the Eagle simply represented America, and how Hancock’s a true American hero… 🙄

Or maybe it's because he's a hobo and likes to wear a beanie, which happened to have an eagle? Ever thought bout that?

"true" movie fans don't think like that Jaxx. They have to try to over analyze everything.

Thus, smart people and Scientists= fail.

Why the hell does the eagle matter anyway?

That's the thing.

It doesn't. It'x just the logo on a beanie Hancock wore.
