They gave SS and GL a Bush-style-shoeing..! 😛

Size 10 lolz

Hehehehe... but did you see how fast Bush ducked away. Great reflexes.

The would-be shoer had given the game away early by beginning to verbally attack Bush before throwing....
Had he not had that warning, Bush would have been caught lovely by the 1st shoe at least..

Sweet.

Well ya gotta shoe somethin', I guess....

I guess...

Missing with a blow pipe at that range with maybe a cross wind, sure...why not...?

Granted the truck scene was pushing it, but it still was suspend-your-disbelief-able...and the dramatic tension was so great that it kinda excuses itself.... it is one of the greatest scenes in any movie.
There is nothing in the TAOS that compares to its brilliance.

Well talented or not, those whacks to the happy sacks would have floored him, and the point is that it was just un-indy movie like..
It was just looking so blatantly choreographed/poncey/flashy.... So out of place in the action in the rest of the saga...
Also why the need for that at all....?
Why did no one try to simply shoot him..? 'Cause he is being groomed to be the new Indy in a bunch of movies that'll look very polished, but lack utterly what made the originals great....to draw in more cash for the super rich and greedy, who once were worthy of the cash that their movies drew, but now write and create like utter hacks..

The whole tone of the movie was like Clone Wars is to Star Wars
diet, watered down, lazily thought out shadow of it's former self.

No I wouldn't expect them to use real ones, neccessarily, just maybe leave them out of the picture entirely, thus not wasting precious screentime.

And I didnt really find the Ruskies too intimidating, personally.
Those Nazis in ROTLA and TLC were more fearsome on screen and historically too, and Mola Ram and his voodoo shit was pretty scary compared to Kate Blanchett's simple "Oooh arent I scary" beady eye technique.

But these are small details of stitching in a whole blanket of shit, sadly.. 🙁

Sorry to interrupt your SW and Bush discussion. I didn't pussy out or anything, I just haven't had to the time to post in a while.

As far as the truck scene goes, I love it. I never said I didn't, I'm just saying that this series has never been very probable. The swordfight scene was pushing it as well, and the whole scene could have been thought out better, but you can't deny how exciting it was. I don't see it being out of place with the earlier movies, and I've been knocked in the balls enough times to know that it isn't the be all end all of a physical debate.
PS:The crew in the jungle run ran out of bullets.

Now let me be clear: I'm not a Lucas apologist. I only started getting into SW when Episode 3 came out, and while I loved it when I saw it, it nows views horribly in comparison to the OT(However, the novelization of 'Sith' is excellent and every sw fan should read it). The other prequel episodes and the cartoon movie that came out in August all suck balls, I agree. I don't think the SW effect crosses over into Indy because they are two entirly different genres, with different people in charge. Lucas may have been an idea man for TKOTCS, but that's it. I just got done watching all 4 movies back to back, and I think Last rusade is still the weak link.

Fair enough... Welcome back, Good Dr..
(BTW Wouldn't have thought you a pussy even if you hadn't ever posted again you know...these debates arent a fight are they...?) 🙂

I yawned through the swordfight both times I saw this cause it looked so glossy and felt like nothing was truely at stake. (Which is the problem with much of the movie: Looks nice, contains very little substance.)

I do root for Blanchett though, in that clash. 😉

Blanchett rules. Her character could have had more depth though.

'More' implies that there originally was 'some'...

😂

😛 Couldn't resist..!

I do acknowledge that its not her fault though.

I think War of the Worlds was a fine movie. 😐

Fine. But not great.

That ending killed it.

After that it was a collection of cool scenes gathered on an island surrounded by lake of poo.

Hehehe

I weep this xmas for those who have well meaning but naive relatives who buy this for them at xmas this year....

"Welllllllll we were gonna get ya GTA IV for your PS3, but we saw old Indy and knew we had to get it for ya... you loved 'Raiders', right....?
Well heres the new one for ya..."

*Painful wince moment*

I wonder how you're ging to thank them.
