What is this "blankie" business? I've heard you bring it up two other times when SW came up in conversation.
Have you ever seen a child carry around a teddy bear or a blankie and you can't take it away from them even if you have something better to give them?
I started calling PT haters "blankie" people back in 1999.

Well, it is only for the haters. It's also opinion. I like the PT better than the OT. I think just about everything about them is better. I think that the "haters" were people that would have hated the PT no matter what it was, because of the blankie syndrome.
I also think that contributing factor is someone said "the PT is crappy" and then some people bandwagoned the idea.

blankie.
Meh. The OT are better, more mature movies to me, whether you try to paint me as a sentimental idiot, or not. And it's not because I saw them first, it's because I prefer, intelligent plot and none cringe worthy dialouge to huge explosions that look realistic. You are right, the PT looks very, very pretty, but it just is diminished by the shit that gets flung in your face every few minutes.
I guess I am also a blankie cause I think Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was shit?
I personally like the OT and PT about equally, though if I had to chose, I'd probably say I liked the OT better. RotS is my favorite SW movie, though.
And lol @ at the blankie syndrome. You pretty much nailed it, but I'm not sure that applies to Bardock, or w/e. 'Cuz there are the bashers, and the 'people who like the OT better'. There's a difference.

I'm just bustin' your balls, dude. I don't really think that. I don't think I've ever really met a true blankie person on these forumz...maybe I have. I can't remember. You DO, however, get all blankie syndrome sometimes.
It's usually just opinion.
I disagree with your opinion on the PT...I think just about everything was better in it including the acting. I went into the PT movies NOT expecting it to be better or worse. I came into just excited to see it...then...I saw them.
I saw them one at a time. Each one was QUITE awesome. From the story to the special effects to the acting. I loved just about every moment. I never hated jar Jar either...I thought he did well for comedic relief in the first one.

I think bardock falls over to the blankie side sometimes...but generally, he's level headed.
I think ROTS is my favorite too...then maybe ROTJ...
I'm not sure. I rated them before in the starwars forum...I'll have to look that up and see what I rated it back then: it would refresh my memory of why I liked them so.

Meh, opinions can be supported and contradicted by facts.

Same, I saw them (though I was very excited to see new Star Wars movies) not really expecting anything, just hoping to see what I liked in the old ones...and I didn't. They just weren't comparable, they were nice looking and flashy, but at the same time they were just childish and cringe-worthy (not even necessarily initially, but on rewatching they just seemed more and more dull), to me. Your experience differed, fair enough. But that ANH and ESB are certainly much, much less for a children's audience than TPM and AOTC is obvious, to me.

Well, I didn't feel that way. They were okay movies, but they weren't comparable to my experience of the OT, which I still enjoy incredibly. They could have been really good (cause all of them have parts I thoroughly enjoy), but they were diminished by other parts which I just despised.

But come on, didn't you feel a bit butt raped by the fact that Vader's legendary fall, was more of a slip from a slightly elevated level?

It's not out here yet, and the look is what I'm worried about. But I'll accept the opinion of a LeBowski [sp] fan. [tickles the question, 'How the f#@k can he be a fan if he can't spell the thing?']
All in all, I thought it was awesome.
I'll accept the opinion of...

I was more peeved from the fact that Vader went from being an absolute bad guy who was slaughtering his own men on a whim in ESB and the beginning of RotJ, to becoming mr. good guy in the course of half an hour.
As far as pacing goes, Anakin's fall was a lot better paced and predictable. He was a whinyemo ***** throughout the first two movies, so when he turned evil you could already see why. Vader was just like... movie 1: evil, Movie 2: Evil
Movie 3: Evil/good, then good in the last half.

What a douche.
The separatists were a warring faction. If I'm not mistaken, they were executing attacks.
They were also all part of Palpatine's plan.
DUHHHHHHH!
The Jedi went along with it because it was their job to maintain the peace...in other words, squelch the separatist attacks and restore safety to the republic...a republic which they had protected and served for about over 24,000 years. Guess why the Jedi order was formed? To f***in' protect the mother f***in' republic. That was the whole reason for the creation of the Jedi Order.
DUH!
Wait, you didn't know that, you douche? Great. Glad I could educate your whiny, "I don't know shit about starwars" ass.
You stupid stupid douche. Get if f***in' right. Because you're such an idiot, you don't deserve to have watched the movies, let alone make a youtube vid about it.
"Doesn't look like anything the puppet is based on."?
WTF? 😆
You fail so horribly.
So, you'd prefer a clunky puppet over realistic CGI? You deserve your 80s puppet movies, then. Go watch those and leave the good movies to not-stupid people.
"....IS AN A**HOLE! He doesn't listen to anyone, he's not very nice, he treats everyone around him like shit, and he only cares about himself."
Wow. And this whole time I thought the soon to be Vader character was a perfect little angel and in less than a second, he turned into the a**hole Vader. Hmm, maybe you're onto something with you expectations of a perfect little angel in Anakin. F*** being logical and actually having a selfish, pushy, and arrogant little shit eventually turn into one of the great Dark Lords of the series, he should have been PERFECT just to make idiots like you happy, right?
You're such an idiot about the mother part as well. They are NOT aloud to have family attachments. When they go off to become a Jedi, it's bye bye family and loved ones. Wait, you didn't know that? Oh, of course you didn't. Why would I expect you to know anything about star wars after you last 8 minutes of atrocity?

You kinda make my point here. Anakin was a whiny little brat that showed signs of insanity and evilness throughout the movies (not to forget that he was quite contrary to what Obi Wan said in the OT, but nevermind that). If someone came to you telling you "Wow, Blax, there's this guy, he's pretty whiny, and he slaughtered people a few years back, and he can't really control his emotions, and he has some phony love scenes with some girl and he lies a lot...but guess what happened...he turned evil...shock" would you really think ... "oh...that's great...should really make a movie about this, is a moving story that".
I don't know, I prefer the message of "Even really ****ing bad people can find redemption" to "Well, pretty bad people can turn a bit worse".

I just posted the video because i thought it was funny, but as a casual viewer i think the dude does makes some excellent observations. Many of which have been the complaints and questions of countless fans and movie goers alike. I think he was simply trying to highlight how poorly the story and characters were constructed. I will agree that the plot is RARELY adequately explained in the movie's and character development is non existent. I wasn't, however, trying to ruffle anyone's feathers. I know how much the prequels mean to some people and i don't want to take away from that. Most of your contentions to his review seem as though they could be argued through the perspective of a casual viewer.
