Also had a good time with my pal, who's such a Bale Batman fan, and getting him to admit that movie Cap would utterly demolish movie Batman in terms of feats and skills.
Cap in this movie is pretty superhuman.
Where would you guys put his strength at?
800lbs???pfft....
tbh Cap's punches and kicks looked more impressive than raimi's Spiderman
I could go into such detail on this film, but I don't have the energy at the moment, so I'll be brief. "Captain America" was a genius film filled with fantastic characters, strong morals, awesome action sequences, and the absolute best translation of one of the best superheroes of all time (and his fantastic enemy) that will ever happen. Chris Evans completely convinced me that he was Steve Rogers, and Hugo Weaving the Red Skull. This is an A+ film, and a 9.5/10.

He looks to have several times the strength of an average man; so, in the 1-2 ton range.
Just came from seeing it, very entertaining. All the actors are great in their roles, and Hayley Atwell has great curves! 😉
Still, I would probably give Thor and the first Iron Man higher marks.
Finally my hunger for a good comic book film this summer has been satiated. Even though i enjoyed Thor and Green Lantern for what they are they still left me disappointed and felt like they lacked substance. I thoroughly enjoyed, Captain America and can't wait to see what becomes of this franchise.
I still say they should have waited until August to open. I think as good as this movie is it will still be overshadowed by Potter in the theaters
Everything in the movie was on point for the most part EXCEPT the action. Which is quite a drawback. This was worthy but not quite as fun as Thor or as emotional as First Class.
With that said, I thought Evans did a great job as Cap. I loved Tommy Lee Jones, Peggy, etc. Red Skull was okay.
Spoiler:
Not sure why they killed off Bucky. He's obviously going to be brought back as Winter Soldier though. Why else would they kill him off.
I didn't much care for the costume though. The action sequences left more to be desired, particularly the fighting. Also, Cap seemed too superhuman. But a small gripe. A couple things I found missing that are essential to Captain America from the film; his martial arts, tactical genius, and his unrivaled leadership and charisma. I thought Evans handled the mannerisms fine though. No question that he looks the part.
The Avengers trailer kind of was better than the whole movie I just watched though. Seeing Thor and Iron Man onscreen is amazingly cool. I can't wait.
Marvel's best film still remains Blade II. With Iron Man and First Class hovering around it.

Cap relies on his shield fighting style of fighting and not MA. I felt that his leadership and charisma was there but yes, not his tactics.
That's because he's fighting PEOPLE WITH GUNS. By the end we see a lot of fantastic hand to hand combat, but this is a war, and he knows that hands can't deal with guns.

You can't not kill off Bucky. Him dying doesn't mean he'll be Winter Soldier. Bucky's death becomes a massive drive for Captain America for years in the comics.
