Fail.

Not seen Cap yet, but Thor's cheesy dialogue worked, because he was from a different "realm" and Jane Foster was like "What are you on?"

Did I say it wasn't cheesy? Thor overall was a better movie.

Just got back from the movie. I really, really enjoyed this one. When i first heard about it I was hesitant but it was great.

I think personally I liked Thor better but this one was an amazing film about everything Captain America should stand for, and great movie.

I just saw the movie I thought it was pretty good. I don't know if it was as good as Thor. X-men: First class was the best out of the three Marvel movies in my opinion.

Agreed.

First Class>Thor>Captain America

All were worthy editions for Marvel though.

Spoiler:
Was happy to see Zola, but wanted to see younger versions of Zemo & Strucker. Even just for a sec

You guys ar comparing it to thor. That does not sit well it my book.

First Class was great, Thor was ok but needed more in the middle to make him really earn his power back and learn his lesson, Green Lantern's only slightly impressive thing was Sinestro.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER WAS THE BEST SUPERHERO MOVIE YET!!!

Holy crap that movie was awesome. All it needed to be perfect was blonder hair on Evans and if Hugo had been as Epic as he normally is. I mean he was okay but not nearly as profound as he was in V or as Smith in the Matrix movies. I was surprised all around. The movie actually was able to strike me to the core in a way that the comics never did with Cap. I mean I've always understood what he was suppose to mean and stand for and how he's suppose to inspire but until the movie, while I liked Cap, it jus never really did that for me. Some how they got the movie to do for me what Cap's comics jus never did. He seemed as real to me then as Spiderman always has in both film and comic!

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios' Captain America: The First Avenger opened to an estimated $25.8 million from 3,715 theaters on Friday. The film could earn more than $60 million this weekend domestically.

That means the comic book adaptation topped Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 for the day as the epic finale dropped a large 84% in ticket sales. "Deathly Hallows - Part 2" added $14.6 million at 4,375 theaters, bringing its domestic total to $240.7 million. On its current pace, the movie may earn about $50 million its second weekend.

The other new wide release, the R-rated comedy Friends With Benefits earned $6.8 million from 2,926 theaters.

So this is actually turning out pretty decent, despite the fact that it's made by the director who brought us such craptastic movies as Jumanji, Jurassic Park III, and The Wolfman? Oh, wait, he DOES have one saving grace: Honey, I Shrunk The Kids. Alright, all is forgiven. 😛

It DID win some major cool points in MY book for using Tool in the trailer, though. That gave me a bit of a stiffy. 😄

Captain AMERICA!! F#CK YEAH!!! gun_bandana usaflag 🤘

I wasn't sure how Cap would fare against Harry Potter 7.5 in it's second week, but he did it; won the weekend with a debut equal to Thor!
Now it will be interesting how the international grosses go from this point...

Saw it on Friday.. It definitely was a winner!

Agreed and I'm actually surprised CA managed to knock off HP only a week after opening its opening weekend.

The movie was great. However, am I a bad person for thinking at times while watching it, "So I guess segregation never happened in the Marvel Universe. 😖hifty:"?

Does anyone else think that the Red Skull was teleported to Asgard?
That was the feeling that I got based on the visual relation between the beam from the cube and the one from Thor.

Spoiler:
Yes he was and hes going to meet Loki.

I was thoroughly impressed by this movie.

The only negative things I have to say about it is that some of the fight scenes were a little cheesy. Nothing on the caliber of Thor cheesyness though.

And the trailer for the avengers movie looked pretty good.

From the trailer I saw the lineup will be:

Spoiler:
Thor, Iron Man, Cap, Black Widow, Hawkeye. I didn't see Hulk in the trailer though.

That would make much sense because the movies timelines differentiate by 70 years.

Oops, couldn't get the spoiler covered. Never mind.

Yeah, this movie nearly nailed everything except for the action.
