The ig could take out half the universe with a snap of the fingers but what did the Source do that was so impressive in this story? Hunt the new gods down one by one whereas the ig could have killed them with a quick snap of the fingers friend.

Well he's going from the fact that the 4th world is gigantic compared to the combined realities of the 3rd Dimension. The 4th world is a universe and to that end, it would take thousands and thousands of universes of the 3rd dimension to fill it up.
