Murder or Self Defense?

No it's not. You're also saying the man is a murderer and a probable racist and a blood thirsty masturbating killing machine. Maybe not that last part, but I wanted to spice things up.

Not an answer, but OK.

YOU USED A LOGICALLY FALSE QUESTION TO TRAP SOMEONE.

Are you dense?

Just asking questions doesn't make your point any better, nor are all questions worthy of being answered. Try to stick to the topic, will you?

The latter is my opinion, the shooting not being justified is fact.

Wrong once more.

That is also opinion.

I provided a similar hypothetical situation, thats all I did. Not my fault you dont have an answer for it.

Very dodgy fact always based on "Well, would you..." and "If I were in this situation..." and "I personally believe for no good reason that....".

I have an answer, I am just not going to give it to you cause you will jump to conclusions, that's how you subconsciously set it up (you don't have the brains to actually conceive of doing that). Your hypothetical is not similar. That's the whole problem.

are we already on page 12 of people defending criminals rights to commit crimes against good, law abiding citizens without fear of bodily harm and possibly death?

Unfortunately and for some reason, yes.

So you never, not once, regarding any situation in life, put yourself in another persons shoes? Look at it as if you were them? What would you have done if a certain something happened to you?

And you talk about me having no brains.

So no, not justified, but understandable.
An opinion you apparently share.

How can you expect him to simulate a situation he has no ability to simulate and then produce valid conclusions from it?

I am saying use your imagination, imagine yourself in that situation.

We dont really know 100% what we would do until it happens, but we can get a general idea.

Well, I considering its "imagination" how can you expect valid conclusions to be drawn from it? You cant...thus, its a pointless exercise.

My apologies, for a second there I thought you were actually advocating beating and executing people who break the law...thus destroying any idea of human rights and shattering what we know as western civilization...which would have immeasurable repercussions for society at large and the remove protection of the state from authoritarianism....dontgetit

As I said, we cant be sure of what we would do unless it happened to us, but by putting ourselves in their place, perhaps we can get a general idea.

Perhaps being the keyword...however because it is unlikely anyone here is really sure of what they would do...the question becomes pointless...

Also, you get the fact that most people will lie and say they would act a way that fits a stereotype they wish to project...or is that too cynical?

The only law breakers in this case were the two thieves. The guy who shot them was well with in it. They took a calculated risk when they chose to burglarize, but unfortunately for them, the person who caught them wasn't a hapless wheelchair-bound 80-year-old.

On top of that, they shouldn't have been here in the first place.
