Really what research and who didn't it impress? The fights involve around a non auto targeting system, that alone makes any battle more than just generic, add it tactics and strategy like dodging(evasion), or forming a shield wall to protect mages makes it more entertaining than anything I've seen from either guild wars 2 or swtor.
Agreed. And same here, Sith Warrior, though I find it too singular in purpose and generic. Assuming I bother with the game at all.
I was heavily interested in Bounty Hunter at first, but as I already know that I won't be able to make the character I intended to initially with that, it's become a case of "why even bother".
Basically, when it was first announced there was a ton of potential and promises of new, interesting ideas. Eventually, more updates and reveals have shown it to be, essentially, a WoW clone, and decisions like restricting your race to the class you play have been generally met with confusion and annoyance.
After ME2 and DAO having been released recently I think that everybody was looking towards SWTOR for another great game. That and the massive overhype of the game make it seem like a less than mediocre game. The developers made promises they couldn't keep so now everytime you see the result, you instinctively think back to what you were expecting and the game seems horrible in comparison. If they didn't hype it so much and had been less, well arrogant, in the interviews then nobody would have cared that it was in fact just another one of many MMOs, instead they would have been happy to have a SW MMO at last.
A couple of recent industry swipes at this one:

Though frankly the idea that George Lucas is panicking seems silly.

Lecturing Bioware about how overrated good game storys are.
he has a big pair, i'll give him that."
😆
From the Bioware bigwigs.
It can be inferred that TOR might be later in 2011 than some thought- though possibly good news that, actually- and some interesting (though very political) responses to the purported insider leak I linked to above.
Oh! And here's a good one!

Looks like the Jedi Wizard is dead! Woo!
Anyone who votes to keep it Wizard must be banned form all things Star Wars forever. Any of the new names is better.
