Some reviewer on IGN seems to like the game.
'It gives the moral choices more impact too. At one point I found a missing girl being brutally interrogated by Republic officers. Instead of killing the officers and freeing her, I accepted a bribe and maintained my silence. I lied to the father, told him his daughter is dead, and went so far as to offer her ring as proof. It was outright evil behavior, and as the father expressed his genuine gratitude for at least bringing him a sense of closure, I actually felt a sense of guilt. I saw his body language, heard his relief, and my deceit felt all the more substantial. The knowledge that the ring doubles as a listening device for the officers to use for surveillance intensified the feeling. I love how the game supports this kind of decision making. '
Jesus Christ, that actually is seriously evil. 😆

That's an amusing story. I'm sure they'll litter that kind of thing throughout the game.
The problem is the nature of it. That's an awesome story element. But it's a story element. Eventually that has to fade somewhat in an MMO and the content and combat itself has to shine. That's where it will keep people, and where I don't know if it's shining or not.

Crafting Guide. Everyone interested should go down a pick out what skills they're going for. I'mgoing for an Imperial Agent so I gravitated towards Slicing, Cybertech and Investigation. And I'm sure the rest of the site will be informative as well. I'm going to read the Agent section next.
The game's light/dark options are just so completely off base, arbitrary, and utterly nonsensical at times, though, so unless you go the "raaar kill everything in sight" path, chances are likely you're going to wind up with a lot of light side points. And even that's not definite.
Played it over the weekend. I tried playing a Jedi with a dark bent, but wound up just remaining neutral the entire time. Kept getting light side points on accident, as well as with my Sith Inquisitor. My bounty hunter also wound up with far more light side points, because a lot of the truly neutral/mercenary options ("well, this person is paying me to kill you, but you're paying me more to let you go, so you can live", that sort of thing) are light side for some reason.
Weird.

Well for those of you calling foul on a light-sider fighting for the Empire, I've heard that you can become something of a double agent with certain classes if you want.
Having played, I can see the morality system playing out well enough for Sith Agents and Bounty Hunters, who don't gain power through selfish and angry acts, but for the proper Sith there's still no excuse.

This sums up most of my issues with the game pretty damn well.
And that is, frankly, my opinion as well.
It's not a bad game. But it's not a good game, and it could have been great if not for specific design choices.
I didn't like the instanced dungeons in WoW, and never participated in raids, but as he says, the Flashpoint I played was a blast. The action was tight and fairly well-balanced (though the boss was ridiculously overpowered), the combat had plot meaning, and the story for it was interesting and, amazingly, urgent and engaging.
I wish the two days I'd played before that had given me the same rush, though. And his revelation that there are only eight Flashpoints is saddening.
