Sorry for my not that perfect English, but I got severe headache and can't think of perfect grammar now. I hope that doesn't hurt your aesthetic soul of English Literature teacher, Digi.

English as a first language is for no0bs.

Is Bielorussian too different from russian?

Thanks.

hmm...just taken a cursory glance at some of the current matches

just an observation on one of the reasons why digi has done so well so far

SIMPLICITY...CLARITY...ORGANIZATION

his post is surprisingly simple and basic...nothing fancy that goes over your heads really. his arguments are very well organized and takes the readers through the battle step by step (contrast this with fangirl's almost streamof consciousness style and its a sharp difference)

also, digi kinda writes for the non-comic reader (aka me), he doesn't assume a certain knowledge about these characters and filters it into very clear simple to understand terms to convey his message

and finally he maintains a pretty consistent message...not much waffling. he's good at driving a narrative rather than just cramming every thing under the sky into his argument.

i think this is a winning formula for debates...KISS (keep it simple stupid!)

---

I also liked Charlotte's initial move...going for the jugular (discrediting the validity of minion prime). It'll be interesting to see if it works.

Excuse me. Simple wont' give you the win against God Cable and New Son Gambit. So cool it. Mkay. 🙂

Thanks. I like to pride myself on my organization, and yes, I think it's won me some matches, or at least helped my chances. Sometimes I think too much information about characters is assumed, even with knowledgeable judges (since we can't be well-versed on everyone) so I like to leave nothing to chance.

Charlotte has some interesting opening points. I'm making the reply now. I'm not worried, but like you said, she's trying to hit where it hurts, which is a good tactic.

Doesn't hurt either that all the judges except Bada and Myself are scared of getting banned and vote for you out of fear... 313

No need to apologize. Just read the thread as it goes along. I broke down my prep in simple parts to explain it in Post number 1. with Scans.

I have no fear . . .

Except serial killers that prey on Yemeni comic book readers.

That's good to hear...

...then I assume you won''t mind covering for Jason as a judge this week in his 'absence' from the board. 😄

😂 How many judges actually got banned?

Don't look at me. I back the other mods on most things, and I'm sure there were good reasons, but I barely know what happened in the recent craziness.

Also, let's not start with this. Tourney discussion is better.

In fact, Belarusian is an ancestor language for Russian- it shares more traits of ancient Slavic languages. They belong to the same language group and in USSR times the grammar\spelling of the Belarussian was altered to bring it closer to Russsian- mainstream lingusts in Moscow viewed Belarusian as nothing more than "broken polonised Russian".
