Congrats though FG. You did some good debating.

Anyway ill, I think you know that I'm the first to promote tourney involvement, and also to prevent needless attacks on others. Fangirl and I have talked at length about reasons to stay active in tournaments, and I've even gone so far as to help him with individual aspects of his debating and strategies. And I wouldn't have said it if I thought there was a chance of it being taken as an insult or in a negative way.

So I understand the sentiment, but there's no need to get testy over it, nor a need to issue ultimatums like I'm breaking some unwritten protocol.

Again, 😬

Digi. If you call me man one more time. I'm going to send you a 😠 in your inbox. It's only fair that the matches be read two or three times. You can make a bad call if you don't. They do it in sports. I think. They look at tapes and reverse judgements based upon it right? And I am still peeved that someone said I was power copying, when I was doing the exact same thing as ID and you digi. using soul powers. I thought that that was greatly unfair.

My apologies.

Instant communications always result in things being said first and thought about later. Run ins are bound to happen there.

I didn't say you didn't deserve the match FG, or ill's vote. I worry about judges changing votes after issuing them, because it sets a dangerous precedent. That's all. It had nothing to do with you, but about the tournament and its structures.

As you'll notice, I actually congratulated you. You've put in a lot of work. I'm glad it paid off.

Apology accepted. You've accepted a couple of mine this tourney, so it's a pleasure to return the favor. Tourneys, or sometimes KMC in general and its goings-on, can get the best of us and make us act rash. So no worries.

Thank you very much. I appreciate that. People make mistakes. It's only fair that if they do, they give the reason. changing votes just for the heck of it wouldn't be fair. But if there was a legitimate over site, then you know things happen. And it may well be my one and only vote for entire tourney. LOL. 😆 😆 So I'll savor it.

Well, congrats to Scoobs. I've said at the beginning of the tourney that I consider your team a "planned loss" for me, and that's what happened🙂
Not that it hurted much, of course.

But anyways, you did show me some mistakes in my plan along with the ways to improve it🙂

it's always fun against you, cdb. perhaps we'll face off again. 🙂

I hope so🙂

This tournament makes me want to update, if not re-do Cables respect thread. Turn it into a massive informative thread. It seems he is mostly known, for his gun taunting, TP/TK abilities. The man is a scientific genius, who has bin exposed and messed around with Shiar, Celestial, and Futuristic tech (2,000 years into the future).

digi, sorry to rehash an old point, but this is EXACTLY why I always thought judges should be required to post some specifics as to why they come to a certain judgment.

because Illadelph actually wrote why he thought fangirl's team lost as opposed to a generic statement that fangirl's argument wasn't as convincing, fangirl had an opportunity to CORRECT (not convince) a misunderstanding/misreading

remember, this is not a problem because fangirl isn't saying that illadelph incorrectly interpreted her argument (since that is subjective), but rather fangirl is correcting some objective facts that illadelph misconstrued

its like if you use character X for a certain purpose, but then a judge thought you used character Y and deemed it a failure...you should have a legitimate gripe in that case.

just my 2 cents

nice touch with the 'I think'. 😉

I was the one who originally suggested the longer explanations, so we're essentially in agreement there starscream. I see such a vote change as opening the door to after-the-match debating to gain judge votes, so I still see it as a dangerous precedent to set. But it likely won't become an issue after this, so there likely will be more good than harm from the extended explanations.

Our match was a special case. with all the arguing and rulings, it could be kind of confusing for judges to accurately get the picture. For something like that, I would have taken the match and edited out everything that was inadmissible.

i just don't see what fangirl did as 'debating'

she wasn't saying 'hey judge, you should be persuaded by my argument because of such and such'

she basically corrected a mis-reading by the judge

I just see a distinction between the two.

---

although you could perhaps say that if a judge misread, then it is up to the contestant to make better organized arguments that are easy and clear to understand and absorb, in which case I'd agree 🙂

If all the rulings hadn't gone on in the match, I believe there wouldn't have been the misread. But yes, If a judge gives a reason and it's a misread, then it should be corrected. Like one judge said I was power copying, when i was doing the exact same thing Spawn and Minion did in their matches. I thought that was so unfair.

see...that example is different. you disagreed with a judge's 'interpretation'...in such a case, i don't think you should be allowed to argue with the judge. You make your case during the debate, after that, the judge is allowed free will to decide his case, even if it may be completely ridiculous to you or even inconsistent, unfortunately.

However, you should be able to correct a judge when its an obvious objective mistake...ie judge thought you used spiderman when really you used superman (stupid example, but you get the point)

This week's matches begin in a little over a half an hour. Good luck to everyone.

Leo/Scoob, I need your OP.

That isn't different. In all three cases, The person's soul is being absorbed. It even says in one of the panels I put up, Faust STOLE my powers. I can't do anything. So it was a blatant disregard for what I posted on panel.
