Well, we have 3 of the 4 teams remaining endorsing leo's plan (though mine is with a request for a slight amendment). So hopefully that can be instituted for the finals.
As for the current matches, I see no reason to intervene in mine and leo/Scoob's match. It's progressing just fine. Hopefully Smurph shows up for his, because I'm not sure what should happen if he continues to be MIA.

Well, if he doesn't show up at all .... you might have an easier time securing 3rd place.

As much as that screams "facepalm smilie," I gotta hand it to Char on the research front. She surprises the hell out of me with the depth and tenacity of her research. Nearly all of us either use respect threads liberally, or character we're familiar with. And she's no different. But every week she seems to have a ton on her opponents as well. I'll be honest and say I haven't seen research that thorough since DarkCrawler used to enter a bunch.

and cdb is VERY competent. she also moves her matches along well (though we've done well in that area i suppose . . .)
my first couple tourneys i did a little more research than this one. we keep chaging guys (which was a blast, actually) but it was a little harder to get into the flow. scoob and i each have some guys we know very well this time and that helped us get better prepared with scans and stuff. it just takes so damn much time. 😬

I don't feel like I did a ton, but only once the battles started. I have files on about 25 characters, all of which I made prior to any of the drafts, since I knew almost everyone I was drafting by the time our first battles started. I think Black Knight was the only late addition to my potential list. One of the perks of not having a partner, I guess: I could determine my plans well in advance. And aside from some spot-scans for Minion, it's been coasting since then.
Which is why I still maintain that losing an early draft slot was a blessing in disguise. I took a day, focused my frustration, and came out with far better plans (Minion Prime among them) and far more plans than my one-note plan at the beginning of drafts. My original teams/ideas would've gotten slaughtered.
I also mustered up the will to make a file to use against Sand, then he got banned and I was miffed, so I haven't been doing a ton of opponent research since then. If anyone ever fights him, PM me.
It takes long enough to locate scans on your own characters (especially if you switch the entire team every round) If I was to look through every comic on my opponents too my head would explode.
It also doesn't help that I lost the vast majority of my digitised comics a couple of weeks before the tourney started.
I have 6-4 on posts in the one match, Charlotte having the 6. Glad to see Blair around, though. And after the lull at the start, it's picked up some, so we should be alright. Haven't read the match yet, but I hope it's going well.
Ours is at 8-8, and should be done in the next day or two. I have one of my last posts planned out already anyway, and don't plan on debating after probably tomorrow (Friday) unless something unforeseen crops up.
I still like leo's proposal though (leo's version of it, not the one posted by delph). But we'd likely be ok without it, though my support is still for it for the finals. At this point, we'll be lucky to get done before X-Mas under any format.
