I'd really like to go forward with the drafts as scheduled, but I need confirmation on who is competing.
As for the number of teams, each team will be facing every other team in round one (regular season) and the top 4 advance to the playoff rounds, so it's really a matter of having an even number of teams. With 5 teams I'll have to institute bye weeks. With 6 or 8 it's smooth sailing.
Actually, yeah, the drafts will proceed as scheduled. Late entrants will just pick from the leftovers (similar to the proxy picks).
The drafts will start at 10:00a PST (in about 13 hours and 45 minutes).
Good luck everyone.
Kandy, Nvr, Gundam, if you want to compete please either post it here before the drafts begin or simply show up and draft your teams. Drafts in round one are first come first served.
I'm The Decider.

i want to fully commit, but i have work priorities. i would still like to draft a team though since tournies have a record for instability and i could be a fill in or something if times get tough.
Hmmm ... what if you draft characters others desperately want then end up not competing at all though?
hmm

Ok, it's pretty simple, actually:1. You are allotted a salary cap of 125 points to draft as many characters as you wish up to the high meta tier.
2. Each tier has a point value associated with it from Low Street tier (5 points per character) to High Meta tier (30 points per character).
3. With the team of character's you've purchased you can configure your characters into any amalgamated configuration you wish so long as you field 3 characters in combat.
4. Prep is allowed (10 minutes), and amalgamation comes at a penalty to your allotted prep time.
5. Certain attacks and abilities (mind control, super speed beyond mach 10, self replication, offensive matter manipulation, high end tech creation via matter manipulation/technopathy) have been banned in order to keep combat focussed on debating rather than super weapons and speed blitzes.
6. You can compete solo or with one teammate (so yes, you can have help).
7. Character you wish to draft must be from comics and have at least 10 full appearances.
8. You're allowed to draft 2 characters per round of the draft, and also allowed to make trades with other teams.
9. You're also allowed to drop characters from your team and pick up new characters at any point (these transactions being based on room within your salary cap).

OK I think I got it. And I have a scanner. Now I just have to learn how to post what I scan somewhere so I can post them. Are the drafts from characters you guys pick or how does that work?
