I did it because I had a lot I wanted to do for the forums that mod-ship allowed me to do. The entire respect forum, maintaining the tiers thread, comic resource thread, teams, removing the Hulk forum, the various tournament-related features like the respect thread and guide for tourney hosts, etc. etc. Some of those would've been possible otherwise, but the platform of mod-dom made all of them easier, and many would never have happened otherwise.
And all but teams I consider a success ( 😛 to Hulk fans, btw, though it legitimately didn't have enough traffic to stay around), though even the teams did a lot for bolstering and maintaining the numbers in the forum.
The day-to-day warnings, pinning, editing, closings, bans, etc. can be tedious, but you get used to it. Though if that all a person wants to do is exercise their authority over others, then yes, it becomes obvious that the person does not want to mod for the right reasons. Mb seems to think he could right all kinds of perceived wrongs with modding, not realizing that most of what we do is rigidly controlled by forum protocol. We just enforce the rules of the forum, as laid forth by Raz, and follow the same procedures for most warnings/bans/etc, and also have to justify most of our actions to all of the other mods by announcing warnings and bans, and posting the evidence for it. It's much less a dictatorship than most realize.
But yeah, the whining. It's rarely annoying...you learn to ignore it, and enjoy the good parts of the forum. At least I do.

i've not read any of the other matches. think i'll do that today while i watch some football and see if i can predict winners losers. i'm pretty sure i heard that digi got roughed up a bit in his match . . . 😖hifty:
It's appreciated V. But weird. I talked to Red about a day and a half ago, and he commented on having read the matches. Seems odd that he'd bail suddenly.

Scoob had guessed pretty much everything you did with Nimrod prior to your first match, and even figured you'd go a bit further with it. It's not beyond our ability to think of the same things as others, even the more talented competitors like yourself.
I'll trust that the Hawkman thing was fairly unique (though illegal, apparently 😛 ). But we all knew something was up, at the very least.
