Hmm...

For some reason I'm having massive formatting issues attempting to post Kfish's opening post. Every occurance of Digi's name causes html coding to pop up in the body of the write-up when I preview it...

It should also make it easier to transfer over to the respect forum (assuming this tourney doesn't stall like my last one...).

Don't worry about it, I get that a lot when previewing posts, they show up normally when you post them.

Before I go respond in our new match I want to ask a couple of questions regarding rules.

1. Are we allowed to sit in a different dimension indefinitely during a match?

2. If Kandy and Id specifically drafted Cable from the era where he had the TO virus (and before he went all Jesus-Cable) how can they use his prep site/tech from an era that hadn't happened for that version of Cable yet?

1) Teleportation via leaving the battlefield (Nightcrawler, Spot, etc.) is legal, as is intangibility which is achieved via that ability (Martians, etc). Actually leaving the battlefield indefinitely is illegal, however. I'm surprised we over looked that with the BFR rule.

2) They drafted TO Virus era Cable (Classic), whose base would be Greymalkin (his ship), which is called "Providence" in the current day. However, only feats from that era are admissable. They can't use current day feats with a classic era version of a character.

I believe your own team's statement answers that first question:

Um, the BFR rule only applied to enemies. You want to change it mid-round, that's fine but it doesn't seem fair to me.

We are cleared in regards to Spots feat.

I do have an issue with a classic character, not using updated version of a feat.

If this is the case then it would nullify almost their entire prep plan.

I had no idea, we would be subjected to a limited amount of feats/experience based on the era of a character. Really it makes no difference to me if Cable is operating in Classic or Current era, as long as I maintained the knowledge experience he gained through out his carrier. I simply wanted to pick a beefier version of Cable.

If this is true, all my prep and research just went down the drain. I mean I even submitted drafts (sept. 9th) of this same prep, where the foundation laid in using up to date information with the last known prep site. 🙁

Yeah, I'm not sure how to proceed with this.

I personally figured that if you drafted a past version of Cable then you'd only have access to whatever he had access to in the past (without time travel craziness to explain his use of modern Cable's stuff)

I don't want to deny you a prep write up, but after we've submitted ours it would give you a major advantage if we were to suggest just allowing you a few hours to put a new one together.

Any ideas on what to do with this Ill?

shrug

I would even go so far as to suggest we call this a bye week in order to let you re-prepare and we could slot the match in at some later point ... perhaps after the regularly schedules matches but before the play-offs (they could be pushed back a week, right Ill?)

Only thing is, on the replay (if that does happen) would we use the teams we have now or teams we may trade for in future rounds?

It works both ways, I don’t think anyone thought up using the façade virus. We where aiming for a complete surprise. The best I can do would be to modify Cables draft from Classic-Current for 20 points. I wont have the Psimitar nor would I have the TK/TP abilities. Everything else is basically left in tact.
