Renegades-
"But like you said, no one important cares about this planet. Having military forces around would only draw attention to your business, if your leaving the Houn alone your forces have no real need to be here."

"We've purchased the rights to thesde lands legally," says Nostrum. "We have the right to keep... ah... 'security forces' as you put it, here."

I guess with-holding info ain't a law breaking crime..

How do I proceed, I don't really know.

"Then why was Ekersly arrested? And why wern't we told in the first place?"

"All details of the deal were contained inside the relevant documents..." says Fisk

(Which were too complicated for anyone to understand)

"Wait a moment,"says Trema. "What company is providing this rental?"

"It's not important..." begins Gern.

"North Star Systems!" says the miner, eagerly.

"North Star?" says Trema. "But that's a Consortium based on Palmyra!"

Renegades-
Re-reading the brief on the mission on page 5. Didn't the Lawyers manage to stop the sale of the Houns lands?

Not as such. The money has been paid, but by claiming the equivalent of squatters' rights with the Houn, the lawyers have made sure that the corporate types have been unable to develop it whilst the Houn are still there (hence their direct plan to make the Houn suddenly no longer there!).

The longer battle to get the Houn their own planet back is far from over.

That has no relevance to me? What is it exactly?

Renegades-
"And by here you mean at the starport where they wont be any use to your purchased land?"

"Whilst we wait for the legal situation to... 'clarify'..." he says.

"Palmyra!" says Trema. "Senator Gern's world! Are you telling me that this deral has been strucutred so that a vast slice of the money offered by the Senate simply goes straight back to yuor own planet, Senator?"

"Oh, WHAT OF IT?" says Gern. "I represent my world! It is my job to get my people the best deal possible! If that includes landing Palmyran business a major contract then that is all part of it.!"

"Oh yes," says Trema, "and I bet they are lobbyists for your re-election campaign too! And I suppose Fisk and Tarjan here do well from the deal as well! Money dor all of you, eh? Moiney gained from the sweat of these poor miners!"

Renegades - think on this. Why do they need security forces for land they own, if they're not allowed to develop it while the Houn still live there? No one else is going to legally be able to do anything with it, either. Remember, you are dealing with a criminal organization here.

Renegades-
I'll have to sleep on it. 3am is a wee bit too late.

... Denzral grimaces. "Is that true?"

"What does it matter?" says Gern. "Nothing int his life comes for free! The situation with the deal has not changed from what it was in the negotiation chamber. It's the only deal on the table- take it or leave it!"

"But that's not true either!" cries out the miner.

A monorail carriage is pulling up again. Busy day!

Relle walks over to Con and simply says, "Well, that was easy."

Denzral turned to the miner, feeling a headach coming on. "Miner. If you know, tell us everything." (still not sure, but I'd like the miner heard out)

Do I know the legalcalities to understand that it is the only deal on the table? Or that the ones renting the stuff can still change after the deal is sealed?

"Is all of this what Eckerly would have brought up if he wasn't arrested or is there more to this?"

Literally no as you don't have Law, but once the deal is signed then that is pretty much that; the mining rights would be done deal.

"There's another offer that has been made! But no-one has been told about that, have they? A conspiracy of silence! Eckersley had found out everything..."

Denzral looks at the monorail to see who is ariving.

"Than we obviously need to know about the second deal before anything is sealed. We must explore every possibility to ensure the people of this planet get the best treatment they can get. We must go and see Eckerly now!"

"They wanted to get the deal done before the representative offering the other deal could arrive and..."

"Well, then they are too late," says the new arrival from the monorail. He coughs in the atmosphere and brushes some dust out of his beard. "The representative has already arrived. But what is this mess? I am very disappointed. If I knew my offer was going to encourage such violence I would never have made it."
