Nostrum considers that.

"I'll need a guarantee," he says.

"Well, we can provide that.," says the lawyer. "We'll draw up that non-disclosure agreement you wanted, but we'll make it conditional on your 'secuirty forces' leaving the planet."

"Not leaving the planet," says Nostrum. "They'll stay at the starport."

Everyone turns to you Jedi...

"There's no time," says Gern," and besides, the negotiations are all finsiehd anyway. So all ths is irrelevant."

"Indeed," says Fisk.

I'm gonna wait to hear what Jedireaper & other jedi think. Personally I want to figure out why Eckerly was arrested and considering the miners told him he knew something important, I think we should pursuit this path.

What have I missed?

Your instincts serve you well. Jedireaper says he mighnt not be about as much, though, and time is short, so some ujilateral action may be appropriate here, Jovan.

They seem every keen to shut that miner up. You can sense... worry? From Fisk, Tarjan and even Gern.

Renegades-
"I fail to see any reason why they must remain on the planet. They leave or the deals off."

Denz shakes his head. "We must do what is right, of course." He placesa hand on Jovans shoulder. "We must discover the truth. Senator, I'm sorry, but it is our mandate as Jedi, to uphold the law of the Republic, and the traditions of the Jedi order. You of all people should know this." He turned to the group. "Firstly, why were we lied to?"

"They stay or there is no deal. They are my guarantee that people ike you don't try and force the issue in return. Mine is a... 'competitive' business."

JEDI

"You were not lied to!" says Gern. "What do you think you are doing, master Jedi! Whose side are you on?"

"Ask them about the rental agreements!" says the miner. "None of the new equipment belongs to us! It's being rented!"

DARK SIDE

Victory, then!

Firak is well pleased, as he has come off well from all this. In the aftermath, someone opens up the voting bag- it went 8 black, 4 white. You had won.

Renegades-
'They are my guarantee that people like you don't try and force the issue in return.' I don't understand this part.

As in, he is worried that if he sends his armed guards home someone else might come in with their own and drive him away! His business is crime, and as he says, that's a competitive one.

Renegades-
Hmmm, his forces weren't here to begin with though. I mean, they only arrived after the Serpent was hired by the company, yes?

This is true. How far do you think you can push it, though?

Renegades-
If Nostrum agrees not to attack the Houn. Why have his guards now when he didn't before?

"Well... Rental agreement? You mean none of this equipment is from the Republic? What exactly is going on here!" Denzral demanded, staying between the weapons and the miner. "Tarjan, was Ekersly arrested?"

What can Denzral sense?

Can I place everyone under arrest by my authority under Republic law, until we figure out whats going on? Including Gern?

Oh, Nostrum was never without them; he only came to the planet when the Serpent were called in. So you assume.

(sorry, was out)

"Is this true? They will have to rent their equipment?"

Firak is well pelased, as he has come fof well from all this. In the aftermath, someone opens up the voting bag- it went 8 black, 4 white. You had won.

Damn, they succeeded...

I mean...

Good job, nice going, all that.

😛

EDIT: I ment, the equipment doesn't permantely belong to the miners?

You pick whichever sentance works best.

"Of course it is," says Gern. "To get the equipment for this deal we made deals with private business at business rates; they were interested but only on a rental basis! But all the money for the rental comes out of the money we are offering here! There is no cost to the locals!"

"But that's why you cannot afford to pay us miners enough!" says the miner. "Half of that money going into the mining programme is actually being spent on the lease with the company for the equipment!"

Oh and no, no-one is breaking any laws here, Denz (except the miners).
