Yes, unfortunately.

Do you think I'm guessing wrong on any of those points?

...Hukabee/Romney????

"Hi, I'm John McCain. I'm conceding the election to Senator Barack Obama and wish to congratulate him on winning the Presidency."

*sigh*

This does not bode well. I was hoping for Huckabee, or even Romney. Romney was a good speaker, nice looking, strong on the economy, and could help McCain flip Michigan, a state he wasn't expected to win.

Instead, he picks the "hockey mom", who while nice enough isn't going to grab any of Hillary's supporters just because she's a female. She's pro-life, pro-family (read: against gay marriage) and liberal females aren't going to vote for that.

And she's from Alaska, a state that McCain was already expected to win.

I'm still going to vote for him, but I have serious doubts now.

(Huckabee/Romney 2012)

You think Obama couldn't take Iowa, but Romney could flip Michigan?

You're really biased when it comes to these.

This is probably unfunny, but I'll post it anyway.

That part was a joke.

Yup. I do think so.

Nope, I'm not. Iowa is still close at this point. It shows Obama up by 5 points, but that's including the convention bounce. Bush won it in '04, so McCain has a shot.

Michigan on the other hand, he's down 4% and it went to Kerry and Gore. He won't get it, but I think Romney really would've helped being that he was born there.

That's not biased, plenty of folks in the political arena speculated as much.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statewide_opinion_polling_for_the_United_States_presidential_election,_2008#Michigan

Obama has on average, a lead of over 5% on average and trend adjusted has a lead of just under 5.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statewide_opinion_polling_for_the_United_States_presidential_election,_2008#Iowa

Obama has a significantly higher lead in Iowa and no poll shows McCain with a lead. It's not even considered that much of a swing state, why? Obama lives next door. yes Bush won it in 04, but McCain is not Bush, despite the similarities.

Obama campaign highlights Palin's 'zero' experience

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080829/pl_afp/usvotemccainobamavp

Really? Is this REALLLY the point Hussein wants to attack Palin on?

"Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency,"

Actually..it is VICE-presidency...Obama is the one with no FP experience who is a heartbeat away from the presidency.

@XYZ

ROFL.

McCain is like Bush when it suits to bash him, but not like Bush when it comes to the states that he'd get.

I'm not saying that Obama wouldn't get Iowa, just that it would be hard and he's not up by much.

If McCain (and now Palin) do well in the debates and turn conservative voters into an energized base again, then they'd have a real shot at Iowa. (again, which went to Bush last time)

That's not Obama bashing, just objective reasoning.

Palin is a cheap gimmick, no offense to her. She was only chosen because she's a woman.

How do you know that?

Because in her speach she appeals to women voters, clinton voters, and talks about American women still being able to break the glass ceiling. 😛

But I would first attempt to know what I was talking about before I said anything, but that is just me. 😉

What has been the biggest knock against Obama? His lack of experience. So why would McCain sacrifice that? Because he expects a new voter block to come with his inexperienced running mate.

That is very possible, but I am hearing a lot of good things (depending on your point of view) about her.

Wow, McCain's pick is wild. I'll give the guy credit, he did a very interesting thing. But wtf? It makes it very hard for them to attack Obama for lack of experience when she has less, and with McCain's age one has to take into account the real possibility of something happening and her becoming president.

Shoulda picked Bobby Jindal..at least he would have won conservatives.

I agree. Jindal would have been a very strong choice if he wanted to pick someone young. The base loves him, and I think he could speak to those outside the party.

But yeah, as others as said, at least she's ****able.

Perhaps people don't care about experience. There seems to be evidence of that.

McCain obviously does, or did. But his pick makes it hypocritical of him to attack Obama on experience now.

Really? I would say that a governor has more experience in running something then a senator, if they both have that number of years in office.

She has less number of years. She was governor for a year, and that's it. I think she was mayor too, I dunno.

Obama was at least in state legislature since 96.

I'd take the governor over the senator though. And honestly it's no more hypocritical than Obama claiming the biggest problems in Washington is old ideas and old politics and you don't need experience to be President and then turning around and picking Joe Biden

State legislature. 😆 Sorry, but I am from the state of Oregon, and you don't realize how bed they are in this state. 😆
