MLK spoke of hope of a better future, he spoke of goodness and change and bringing about a better tomorrow.
Obama speaks of hope of a better future, he speaks of goodness and change and trying to bring about a better tomorrow.
MLK was referenced in his speech because they have things in common, aside from their obvious skin color, and because as Strangelove pointed out, it was the 45th anniversary to the day of MLK's I have a Dream speech.

Sarah Palin is the Republican V.P candidate.
"Hi, I'm John McCain. I'm conceding the election to Senator Barack Obama and wish to congratulate him on winning the Presidency."
*sigh*
This does not bode well. I was hoping for Huckabee, or even Romney. Romney was a good speaker, nice looking, strong on the economy, and could help McCain flip Michigan, a state he wasn't expected to win.
Instead, he picks the "hockey mom", who while nice enough isn't going to grab any of Hillary's supporters just because she's a female. She's pro-life, pro-family (read: against gay marriage) and liberal females aren't going to vote for that.
And she's from Alaska, a state that McCain was already expected to win.
I'm still going to vote for him, but I have serious doubts now.

McCain is such a shitbag. Picking Palin JUST for the sake of the female and Hillary voters and not giving a shit about the interests of the people or the party. This country is doomed..all that matters now is who is going to pull the trigger on the gun facing Americas head..Obama or McCain.
its the special interests election

At least you might have this to hope for (...I guess) 😑 :
In other news, today Bill Clinton changed his support from the Democrats to the Republicans. He stated "I feel that my expertise are better suited for the Republican party. Being cast in the shadow of Obama, I felt numb to politics. Now being a Republican, I can penetrate my thoughts and ideas much better that will make Lady Liberty proud." Reports coming from sources named Billpenisissmall, Bill decided to change parties after googling pictures of VP Sarah Plain.
