It is confusing what Marvel are doing regarding Bruces personalities. They established in the late 80'-early 90's that the abuse Bruce suffered as a child resulted in multiple personality disorder. The core human Banner personality has consistently been portrayed as good natured and well meaning. It was his good nature that led to him risking his life to save Rick Jones, then a stranger, during the original gamma bomb test-the event that turned Bruce into the Hulk. His comment in the Daken vs Skarr fight, about becoming the Hulk to "save the world from Banner" doesn't fit that consistent portrayal-unless it was a bluff to save Skarr from Daken.
Recently they've had Doc Samsom suggesting that Hulk may be the "true personality" with Banner as a facade. Which personality is Samson referring to, as in addition to the Banner persona there is also Grey Hulk, Savage Hulk and Merged/Proffesor Hulk -this being established by Marvel. Where does WWH fit in with the established Banner/Hulk personalities. Is WWH's persona a combination at least 2 of the other Hulk personalities of the evolution of 1.

Wolverine and Daken can literally smell a lie, so that doesn't seem to be the case.

If that is the case then I make my earlier posts correct -about Bruce's current personality not being entirely that of "classic" Banner.

WWHulk/greenscar. seemed to be him after accepting hulk. So i would label that as his true self buy Samsons comment.

If that is so why didn't Bruce's and WWH's personalities merge into 1 "true" Banner-as opposed to there being at least 2 personalities-AND why did the Grey Hulk and Savage Hulk personalities re emerge after World War Hulk.

Well because its still a transformation it might seem a little different. But he could change at will and they seemed to think all the same stuff. Just that he had a hard time accepting that its all him. He states numerous times recently that he has always been in control just never really wnated to be.

Those statement fly in the face of decades of Hulk history. Banner was always depicted as not being in control, and so was always searching for a cure. If Bruce was in control then why, during the latter part of his time as Merged/Prof Hulk, did he transform into Savage Banner when enraged?

I dont know, but recently it has been tah the has been atleast partially in control.

I believe Banner's current personality isn't the classic Banner persona. His other personalities -which were able to manifest physically in the past because of the gamma radiation -are making up for their physical inability to "come out" by influencing his behaviour. When Banner met up with Reed, Cho and others' recently, and stole back WWH's sword he said "I just wanted MY stuff back"
