It's been while but I'm pretty sure there was less than a dozen Avenger's fighting him.

The main characters engaged in the battle where Namor, Hercules, Wonder Man and Iron Man. And no, I'm pretty sure he was not stomping them. I think there was a rematch later on in #321 where She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, Captain America, Hawkeye, the Wasp and Tigra joined in but I don't recall them doing much other than She-Hulk.

Well I guess that was just Hercules letting the Hulk know that it wasn't ghey to lick his toes. How about when the Hulk squeezed namor so hard he screamed? Oh and I guess Ironman's armor was just malfunctioning.

It was actually two full rosters, and the Hulk was tossing them around. Besides that, things are going to get very interesting in the next few issues.

Steve is a better strategist than most characters but Hulk had way more power in that confrontation, it wasn't just about stealth but also sheer power.

No, I'm away from my main collection, and have nothing earlier than 2003, but you check out the Incredible Hulks previous volume between issues 300 - 321. Not to mention that I don't have a scanner on hand.

It looks like Rulk is in for a rough ride LOL. Everyone that he launched a campaign against in the past, seems to be paying him back in full.

Spoiler:
Even Uatu is taking part in his punishment. Rulk also appears to be as strong as he was, when he faced Thor in combat in their first battle.

I don't know about that, he doesn't have his absorbtion powers.

Ok I understand what you're getting at. You mean his amping ability right? well his base strength was good enough to hang with Thor in their first battle, I don't recall him being amped when he put the Grand Master in a coma, so all that he is missing is his energy leeching abilities. He still retained his healing factor.

Spoiler:
Rulk just went toe to toe with Thor in his last battle with him, and wasn't flattened, so he's still on a comparable level, which also points out that in the last issue, that Ironman, wasn't really a threat to him, in the least.

I don't mean to say Rulk can't hang with Thor without amping, last issue he certainly didn't fall down after just one hit or anything like that. However, Thor confirmed on panel that Rulk was absorbing his powers during the first fight and

Spoiler:
not only did Rulk was doing much worse this time around, but also Thor stated he knew Rulk was his ally, so he wasn't going all out nor trying to actually hurt Ross. I think if we consider this we get that Rulk is diminished from the time he actually could overpower Thor.

more likely "de-power" than "overpower"

😛

Hmmm... what you say could be a possibility, although it was not Thor's energies that Rulk was leeching, but more Mjolnir's lightning strikes. All the same, I really didn't think that Rulk was Avengers material, but after reading the two latest books, I have to say that my stance is rapidly changing. I just don't see what assets Rulk brings to the team aside from strength, unless of course they make him Field Captain. outside of his power he is a trained leader.

Steve Rogers won't be the Field Captain, because his hands are filled with his obligations to Shield, so Rulk should be the Captain of the team IMO. I don't see a better choice than him at this point.

Among the characters that have been Avengers? Only a few can actually hold a candle to Rogers when it comes to field leaders -Wasp, Mr. Fantastic and T'challa; Hawkeye is potentially quite good too, but he has never worked his magic in tier 1 teams-, but I think that Rulk fits well my "second brick" category that current Avengers are lacking. At times Stark needs to be in the lab damn it!

I'd add Monica Rambeau and Ms Marvel as field leaders.
Wanda had some good moments too

Banner needs to get his ass beat. Seriously. This tough talk is getting annoying. Dude was mouthing off to Steve f*cking Rogers.

Too bad it'll never happen. Not with Pak writing. Both he and the Hulk need to be taken down a peg or two.

And Pak pushes the entire "Hulk is a hero" angle too much. The entire savior thing he did with World War Hulk has gotten old and it's too Superman like. It was interesting I'll admit.

And lullz at the Hulk out maneuvering Rogers.

I'm still young. Maybe I should become a writer.

thor will be taking out mikaboshi with a single hammer toss if that happens, and greg pak will create an account here and bytch about you

it's called the ragnarage cycle

Your irrational Hulk hate continues. durpalm

The sooner you accept Hulk is just that powerful, the sooner you'll enjoy happiness.

Agreed. The Avengers is actually a good school for field leadership.

Too bad Vision and Wonderman never learned a thing ermm

Carol questions herself too often, and in my opinion lacks the conviction to be a superb and dynamic Field Captain. Rulk however is very methodical, and tactical in battle scenarios.

Wonderman is written to suck balls, however he's apparently becoming a bad guy from last I saw.

Wonderman already became a villain once, Wanda became a villain once, so did Vision.

Did I mention Bendis rocks?

I have to admit I like Bendis as well.... well at least most of the time. Wonderman seems to look good in bad, I'm just questioning the motives behind his recent rant. I mean do ya think he was over reacting a bit?

There is probably a deeper issue going on with him, maybe retooling his Nefaria influence or referencing that other time he went berserker. Or something new, personally I think it's a win that WM gets some attention after being in the sidelines.

Wonderman vs Rulk 😈
